Got up early again to drive from Visalia to Trona, CA. its in the Searless Valley near China Lake Naval Station. You know TOP GUN right? Anyway, small hole in the wall town in the middle of nowhere. Get there loaded and moving in record time, except for tarping which I can do at the rest area off site???? Huh?
Yep, small rest area 1/4 mile from gate. It was dam near 90 degrees tarping. HOT! Took my time, and then had... 45 minutes left on that 70 clock again. Sitting behind an Albertson's right now in Ridgecrest, CA. Wonder if I will get lucky with a relay, or am I taking it to KY. We'll see.

Did you pick up borax? We were out there in July a few years back and it was miserable tarpping in the heat. I put our alarm clock on the step of the truck that was in the shade and the darn thing actually blanked out after it hit 120*.

I like Trona, of course last time I was there it was March so that helped.

Yep, borax. My dash temp said 88, but it felt like 100. Drank two bottles of water and was still dehydrated. Lived in phoenix for 14 years, think my body forgot about true heat. LOL

Oh, and I wasn't standing on the corner, but there was a lot lizard. She was picked up and driven of the property about an hour after I got there. By the police!

Nice picture. I think I saw that rock formation when I was driving out of there.

YAY, finally I am going to get a relay to head home... Just have to deliver in Iowa on Monday first. :biggrin_25523:

Oh well, it's heading in the right direction. I did meet -LLL- in Albuquerque today. He's heading home to Phoenix. Think he might get home before I do. :biggrin_25525:
