Hello to all!! I have threatened, for a long time, to start my own thread. So, here it is.....
I would like to make this a TMC driver's chat room type thread. Welcome to ALL TMC drivers, trainers, trainees, and any potential driver.
I need to first start out by giving a huge THANKYOU to TMC driver's Milskired and Dirty Jerz. Thank you for your support long before I ever stepped foot into training center. You guys kept me strong, after reading all the B.S and lies that are on here pertaining to TMC. Now that I have witnessed it, and lived through it, my hope is to be able to shed the REAL truth about orientation, and driving for TMC, to all who ask. I also want to thankyou guys for the trucking advice, and answered questions that have asked. So far, I have truely enjoyed every minute of this. I firmly believe that TMC is a top quality carrier, that has high standards. I like that!!
I also want to give a big thank you to a Millis Transfer driver, goes by the name of Baritone. Thank you for your kind words and your support to a complete stranger. I will try to keep your outlook while out here on the road. Thank you to all!!
With that said,I have just completed my 2nd week out with my driver trainer. It has been GREAT!! I am sometimes overwhelmed at the amount of things that I am taught, and learn on a daily basis out here. Even though I am far older than my trainer, he treats me like I'm his little brother, and a big thank you to "Squirrel." I have logged over 4100 miles in my 2 weeks. Hopefully I can test out early, and start making money, AND finally be ALONE in the truck!!
Guys be safe out there. Let the dummies have the left lane! Look for me out there, I'm the one in the shiney black truck! lol :biggrin_2559:

jmthomas, dirtyjerz and milskired Thank this.

Well, its early monday morning. I'm getting ready to leave out for another week
On the road. Help me out guys, why is it easier to drive a truck all day than to drive a 4 wheeler? I know we are delivering in Knoxville,Tn this morning. Then we bounce short local and then head to Iowa. Everybody be safe. Let the dummies have the left lane. Look for me, Im in 91394.

Ok, another day logged and closer to my own truck. Drove 608 miles yesterday. Bumped my clo k for 14 at midnight. Drove through 3 rest areas, and a truck parking area. Not only full but double parked. Ended up stopped on a on ramp for I40w. I dont like running that long because my 14 cant start now til 10am. Im starting to wonder why Im killing myself for the training pay Im receiving? Guys be safe. Feel free to post comments. Buckeye medic, where you at dog?

Ok, another day in the books. Stopped for my 10 at an on ramp to I10 in Louisiana. Long day. Loaded up 47,000 lb of slinkies and taking to northern Florida. My trainer is making killer money, Im making minimum wage for training. I'll be so glad when Im solo.

Blind dog i did the same with my trainer. The time we ran team was the best. I got all the night driving and killed my 11 and 14 constantly. But hey, when ya get your own truck it will be worth it in all the exp you got in training. Trust me.

    Blind Dog Thanks this.

Did you go down I-12 on your way to florida? If so I believe I saw you this morning on my way to work. I saw a TMC kenworth hauling boats, and then a Pete behind it hauling coils of cable or somthing like that.

No. We came east on I10 from Texas. Easy drive. We are of course in a black pete with 47,000 lbs of steel slinky. Off load in the morning, then hopefully grab a load that routes by the house in western nc. Life is good.

So now Im chilling in the top bunk sitting in a Home Depot parking lot for the night. Very nice. Good temp, got the windows open with fans running. Very quiet and peaceful. Tomorrow, I'll pass right by a Starbucks when leaving the shopping center.
