If the sand hauling is drying up that is news to me. I see those guys picking up sand right next to where we unload the crude in the Port of Victoria. One driver I work with said he talked to a san hauler and he was making some serious money.
South Texas is the Eagle Ford shale and it is an oil shale. They are printing money with oil prices this high and will continue to do so as long as oil stays north of $50 a barrel. Williston ND is also an oil shale.
I'm sure there is a slowdown in the nat gas shales like the ones in PA and LA. Nat gas prices are set to hit $1.50 this Summer. Big nat gas players like Chesapeake are moving out of nat gas into the liquids.
Need work? South Texas Oilfield hiring like crazy!

Just got hired on with Sunoco Logistics in Gonzales, TX! I've heard they are looking too hire on at least 10 trucks running 12 hour shifts 5 am-5 pm!
Tractor7127, starsonwindow, Big Duker and 1 other person Thank this. -
kksfoley, (or anyone who knows) I see the pay rates for hauling crude at SL are a base hourly rate of pay, plus commission Pay of .1751 - .2114 cents per barrel (depending on experience) and .3952 cents per mile. Do you mind, or can you say about what the base rate is?
I already applied, but it would be good to know what I'm waiting to hear about.
Thanks. -
@JahB Sunoco Logistics pays no hourly wage unless your truck is down for maintenance or your sitting and waiting too unload! 39 cpm and 18 cents per barrel.
Thanks everyone for the CONGRATS!JahB Thanks this. -
Cool. Well, maybe you'll be kind enough to let us know about how how it's going once you're rolling and if you like the earnings. (compared to what we hear about other jobs) Did it take quite a while for them to get back to you after you applied? I'm taking the long view with them, and some of the other larger companies, so I'm thinking the lead time on any of them will not be short.
BTW: Congratulations, and best of luck! -
Did they give you any ideas as to what you are looking at wage wise? Like $200.00(I just used this for example) a day or whatever? Thanks. and Congrats. -
starsonwindow Thanks this.

Yeah, and if you're only doing a couple turns a day.....well, not great money some days.
-
Here's kinda a breakdown $33 for crude and $95 for $128 round trip you can only do 2 loads a day. 128 x 2= $256
