I was confused as well. I had thought you had gone to school and now couldnt find a job but now I see that you haven't gone to school. Unfortunatly you are finding out the hard way that most of these companies won't take you without going to an accredited school. I had a guy in my class who did the same as you, he eventually gave up looking for a job and did the company sponsored schooling. At least h didn't have to retake the road test...lol. I wish you the best of luck

Take a look at Prime as well. Very good training pay ($600 / week) and a short commitment, less than one year.

Celadon is a really good company for teams. Week paid vacation for every 30,000 miles you are out! That's a month and a half for teams! Not sure what the qualifications are though. Don't know if they accept newbies.

You may also want to look into reefer companies. More "hot" loads and better freight selection.

Panther is also good for teams. Good thing about them is that they are comprised of many smaller O/O companies so you are more apt at getting hired as a newbie.

    Good luck....

Is this right? You learned how to drive and got your CDL on your own,no school.
You have 366 miles of experience. You don't want to run single; you want a partner to get more experience. Is this basically correct?

You also have to keep in mind that at 22cpm you won't be making very much money. Don't listen to the recruiter garbage that you'll run twice as many miles with a team. NOT so! That is in a perfect dream world. I've read that industry average is 1.4 times the mileage team as apposed to solo. I teamed for FFE back in the 80's and that's about what we averaged.
So....if you're running 5000 miles per week team (tough to do with normal logistics and stupid dispatchers) that means you get 2500 miles times 22cpm = $550.00 per week. You can do much better than that solo.
If money is not an issue but safety is, then I would go with and I agree with the person who said team with someone who has 3 years experience or more. You do NOT want to get tied up with a newbee. We all have to start somewhere, but safety and experience is after all your main concern. Remember though, for all practical purposes and intents you are married to your team driver. Snoring, bodily functions, poor hygiene habbits and all

    Good luck to you.

    chompi and doored88 Thank this.
