The QC is a weekly average, resets every sunday night. Gets its information from the same place as the dash, the ECM.

If you reset your trip meter everyday, then the dash is a daily average.

I go by actual, miles driven divided by gallons purchased.

Both are always off by 5 to 10% from actual if you divide miles driven by gallons used, in my experiences.

I keep track of all my fuel purchases all year long.
Then at the end of the year, I total those and divide them into the total mileage of the truck. Paid and unpaid miles.
this gives me the most accurate number.
Last year, I came out with 7.56
The truck says I averaged 7.7
Now I hear there is a new MPG campaign poster hanging around the offices.
    With yours truley picture.
Well at least it isn't the post office.

I want to do solo, I am living in west palm beach. Will I have to leave my truck somewhere and then have to drive back since I don't live in tx?

Training pay reembursed: I was told my training will be reembursed, is that true?
What is the salary while with an instructor?
    How long is training?

Home time: How long are you normally on the road before returning home?

Company drivers leave their trucks at a Peterbilt, Kenworth or Thermoking dealer near you. Some get approval if they can find a gated and locked storage facility. Alliance drivers have more freedom with the trucks. You could park it (bobtail) in your driveway if you wish.

I think that they claim to reimburse but make sure that you read the fine print. They are misleading on the Stevens school reimbursement.

    $350 week

5 Weeks out with a trainer, back to Dallas for 3 days classroom then 3 weeks with another student. From there you go to grad fleet for 90 days. After grad you are a real live truck diver.

I was out 8-12 weeks but that was my choice as I couldnt afford to take time off. I would stop and have dinner with the family when I would roll through town though and try to stay the night. Stevens normally will get you home 6-8 weeks.

If you pay for your own school stevens does reimburse you at $25 per week. You must have docments from the school showing total cost and documents showing what you paid.

    West palm beach?

Southern florida? Stevens has very limited chances of hiring from that area.

Not sure what to believe anymore. The recruiters in the office stated that there are 15 positiOns available. Also stated that I'll be able to park my truck on my property because I own 20 acres in loxahatchee, fl. Really do appreciate all the help from everyOne. Does going with a local company make more sense?

I am willing tO move wherever for I have lived in Florida for 27 years and need change. Maybe SC or tx if I can find a nice place there. Was deployed to Iraq for 3 years and won a large settlement from a department where I was a cop so plenty of money to get up n move

Dont think Stevens even hires from Florida as what was said above. Plus there is that new Texas law that you must be a resident of TX to attend a Texas driving school. If you want to go to Stevesn your probably going to have to move to Texas or SC (and take your own CDL class/school).

The recruiter is paid to get you to orientation.
No you may not park Stevens truck on your own property when you go home, it MUST be parked at an approved location, with fence and locked gate.

You will have to fight to get home, every 6 to 8 weeks. Not enough freight into and OUT of florida. In the last two weeks the recruiters told candidates from florida there are no seats available, from their questions here.

Well I humbly bow out, to all the drivers who can withstand this lifestyle I am humbled. I meant well for my fam but this whole thing seems to have done more harm then good for us. I have no negative thing to say about any of it. Its me not the life. Miss all my buddies on here. Time to go save my homelife. Be well. :biggrin_25514:
