Need work? South Texas Oilfield hiring like crazy!

Pathfinder1361 I'm not 100% sure that's what we will make, but we were told as a rookie driver we should expect that much a day. 240 miles is from Gonzales to Bay City roughly 5 to 6 hours time round trip per a driver there! If we wait an hour or more at lease load/ unload we would get like $18 an hour! $10 for denying a load! Truck breaks down 14 an hour! You will NEVER be in a truck more than 14 hours! You are required every other week to work a 6th day!

 

OK! I'm not doubting you on that, so thanks for the clarification. Let us know how that's working out for you after a bit, and how you enjoy working there. If it goes that way most days, then that's not too bad at all, and it would be a considerable amount of driving, too. They're doing 5 on 2 off and 6 on two off, right?
I'm real curious, since they have my resume and application.

Well, me either, but if you consider good equipment, longevity, not having to change companies often, there's more to it than just what you make in a a given week. Slow and steady at a real good rate can be better than turning and burning for a few months at a time, then nothing or little, or having to go somewehere else. Married guys with a kid or two tend to think that way.. lol

Where are you in Phx? I'm in Tempe, near ASU. Will be heading out to SE TX around the end of June more than likely, in spite of the humidity and the same heat.

Ok, I have some info for someone looking for an oil field job in the Oklahoma / Kansas areas. I didnt want to break any forum rules by putting up the link to the company here. I will gladly give anyone the contact information if they will send me a pm. No I am not a recruiter. I don't even work in the oil field industry. My son works for this company and told me the are looking for drivers. No he's not a recruiter either. Good luck ! I posted this on another thread. But I didn't look at the date of the last post and it was made in January. This thread looks a lot more active..lol. so here it is. I hope it helps someone out.

 

I can tell you crude haulers in our area make either $18-$20/hr wage or $220 to $250/ day salary so his numbers sound in line with what I'm seeing.

 

I'm curious if anyone knows of a crude hauler that will take a new CDL holder straight out of school?

 

thanks...$18-$20 /hr sounds good to me (as long as you are getting paid for all of your time) . sunoco apparently uses a pay system of mileage plus barrels which is your trip pay. .39 cpm caught my attention because i thought it possible it (.39 cpm) was low for crude hauling, when you consider the driving conditions of the oilfield. but maybe at the end of the week it all equals out the same? thanks for your replies.

 

Yes there are a couple I know of. I don't want to compete with you though. LOL. It takes a while to get on to them, and they're not that hard to find. even on these threads.
