Had our graduation ceremony today. It was great. The teacher cooked chicken wings on the grill. He used some seasoning called "Slap yo mama". Funny name but man the stuff was goooood! The dean of the tech school came and said a few words. Thought that was nice.

So now I have my sealed envelope to take to the DDS tomorrow and exchange it for my actual CDL license. I will also be taking the hazmat/tanker tests as well to add to my license. Talked to Superior Carriers today and let them know I was still interested in trying to get on board with them. If I am able to get on with them, I will run out of Winder GA after all my training is complete. Which is nice because it is only 13 miles from my house.

I want to go ahead and put in applications at other companies besides Auto Zone in case things don't work out with Superior or Auto Zone. But I am not sure what other companies to put in with. I had a couple in mind but the more I read about them the less I liked them. So I don't know. What I do know is I am ready to start driving for sure.

    kydriver Thanks this.

Good luck with your tests Ducky.

And glad to hear that you are still planning to join us at Superior, and running out of Winder sounds like a great idea. We don't use that terminal much, but it's great that you will be able to run out of there - so much closer for you than Morrow.

I agree with keeping your options open, it can't hurt to have some plan B options in case anything goes wrong. If the OTR life suits you, I think you'll be hard pressed to do better than Superior, but if you need something more local, or even regional, someone else might be a better fit.

Thanks. I am definitely going to pursue Superior. Gave them a call yesterday and let them know my status. So we shall see.

Thank you. Yes, I will continue to post my progress and where I eventually land :biggrin_255:

Went to take my endorsement tests after work today. Got there an hour before the cut off time for tests. I figured that should be enough time. It would have been but the lady at the front desk gave me the wrong ticket number (based on what you are there for), which I did not find out until I got to the window. Lady says "sorry, it is too late to give anymore tests today." I was P O'd to say the least.

I hate to be critical of other people but that place is as bad as Wal Mart. The people working there don't know shiat and there is always a bunch of weirdos there :biggrin_25523:

    um....

you've been to the Motor vehicle office for your license HOW many times and just learning this?

Always triple check exactly what you want the first time you are talking to someone there.

Maybe that's where I screwed up. I only explained myself to her twice :biggrin_2556:

Third time would have been a charm?
