7750 is the worst GPS I have ever seen. I got the update from cobra and guess what. After spending additional $86.00 this GPS is still worthless if you want use it in Chicago land area.

I got the 7750 unit like a month ago.
Now i am trying to update the software.
I downloaded the latest one 2.0.1.19
After running the update it still says that the sw version on the device is 2.0.0.20
But the Aura update was successful.
Any help please.
Thank you. -

hey Brian
I received the Cobra 7750 PLT GPS for Christmas this year. I am a tractor Trailer driver. Its a nice looking GPS has lots of potential.
1. The first thing that is a problem with the 7750 this is a truck gps, Its waits till you right at the point of no return. Example You are coming up to a bridge 13' 4", your height is 13' 6". the 7750 waits till you right at the bridge by that time its to late
to change direction this is very dangerous. And of course you going to say why you followed that route. Since you state on GPS not to follow dangerous routes.
2. That's why you bought the GPS to help avoid that. And besides if you know where you going; You don't need the GPS.
3. This is a good car GPS, sorry but not a good truck GPS. -
I totally agree it cant find alot of the bussiness Numbers and takes a longer way around to get anywhere not the direct route so I all the extra turns it put you into a risky % percentage the #### thing just out right sucks for trucks and should not even be on the market hope they loose thier shirt on such a deffective product I have not talked to anyone who is happy with it and the company dont care as long as they sold it I tell every trucker I can how bad it is when I can bring it up in conversation thanks Stay safe and happy new Year

I took my 7750 PLT to Orlando with me on vacation, I just purchased the unit. The unit constantly gave me the wrong directions to turn at intersections. The voice would say turn left and the small screen on the left would point to turning left, the big screen would show turning right and the proper directions were turning right. So if the gps would say turn right, I would most of the time have to turn left. These are not new interstates and have been around for decades, so they havent been changed. Besides one part of the machine says turn left and the other turn right. What a piece of garbage. When I got home I took the cobra gps out and put my Nuvi 465T back in. At least this one gets me to where I am going most of the time without second guessing every turn. Also why doesnt it show speed limits? In Florida speed limit signs are at a premium, one every 20 miles or more, so I would like to know what speed I should need to run. I am going to sell the unit on ebay for whatever I can get out of it, its of no use to me. I expected more from a company like Cobra.

Dear Brian. Purchasing this 7750pl was most disappointing experience I, had even more disappointing was Paying $50 for upgrading . i fell i was cheated by the lady who answers the costumers service line that sounds like grandmother. that she claimed that the Up date map just came in and is up to date . however the after update many roads have vanished . many scales have vanished , many truck stops have vanished , rest areas same.
I was in Phoenix tow days ago and tried to fined Petro truck stop it claimed it was on a street and gave me direction to get there and same time gave me warning about truck restriction and when said your destination on the right , and that was a small mom and pop store not even a gas station. this is one of experiences that i been having since map upgrade .
I had less issues with GPS before upgrade . and going Trough upgrade processed has taken almost a month and then ending up having more problem it was costly and very disappointing.
it was only tow reasons that I, was advised by your customer service to pay $ 50 + shipping cost to upgrade . one, just finished freeway in Oklahoma. the second the Air expressway in Victorville California. which been around for over twenty years. Non Of this two roads have been fixed in my Gps and it was created more issues and problems.
Not: FYI , I had to send the Unit to Cobra to Upgrade the unite. so it was not don by me. -
how can we get our money back from this guys?
