lol, please don't take that the wrong way.
I honestly want my wife to go to nursing school. It's her goal, yet not working at all and going to school full time IS going to make things more difficult (think of rent/food/utilities/my driving needs) while 2200 is nothing to gripe about it is if it is the ONLY source of income, and is used to sustain two seperate households.

Is it true showers at truckstops cost 10 bucks?

I've seen $11, but... every time you put a minimum of 50 gallons of diesel in your truck you'll get a free shower credit put on your rewards card for that chain. They expire in 5 days most places.

well thats good, I could go a day or so without a shower but anything after that I start smelling kinda sour. :p

what does the average driver usually spend on himself as far as necessities go.
My pops told me he usually averaged around 800 a month but he loved to eat out and such. I figure I could save money and do the make my own breakfast/lunch thing. I have an affinity for sweet tea and coffee I can make those in the cab during downtime as well. Just want to get a good idea on what I might be spending.

Well, if you cook in the truck you can get by easily on $40 - $70 a week depending on how much you spend on DVDs, etc. You want to shop at Walmarts as much as possible - you can usually get your truck into their lots. Maybe another $40 for truckstop items, coffee - a lot of that you can get on rewards points (same deal as the showers.) All depends on how good you are at being a tightwad - try to spend as little as possible in the truckstop.

    Use fueling credits for showers.

JCW gets $75/week for his nicotine habit and food/coffee.

His income has been our ONLY INCOME for almost our entire marriage. Not wanting to get into your bidness, but 2 separate households? That seems wasteful. We have a mortgage, utilities, food, ANIMAL food (cow/goat/sheep), gymnastics, plus me driving 100 miles a day for said gymnastics and my running training.

His cpm this week (including bonuses) was 42.5 cpm. He got over 2k miles. This works for us. Maybe taking a hard, hard look at what you are spending might reveal some things you can cut.

by other household I meant truck, the misses says she/family needs 1500 a month.
that will cover food, gas, rent, utilities. leaving me with hopefully 700 a month.
I'd like to be able to save money but still spend some. know what I'm saying?

All of you need to consider socking away some cash to cover the bumps in the cash flow. We do get slow times - especially after the turn of the year, July can be a bit rocky too.

Im am bringing roughly 850.00 a week as a company driver. Some weeks more, but seldom less unless I am on home time, then it just depends. 200.00 goes on my card for me to spend, the rest goes to the wife to pay the bills and do as she see's fit.
I keep the left door shut and make runs that according to my FM, other drivers have a hard time making. Don't know if he is stroking my ego or not, but I run continually, and get the miles. I have had 1 week with less than 2100 miles, again, unless I was on home time. I go home every 4 weeks.
    Hope that helps you.
