Appreciate it.
I have always had a little voice in my head telling me to go. Then when I do move there, I probably will regret I did not do it sooner.

Got an e-mail from Sanjel in Lloyd asking for my abstract. Applied through the website couple weeks back.
Had my testing done today for Trican, took about 2 hours. I don`t think my family doctor was anywhere near as thorough as this place was.
Had a full medical done (again, did one last week for Ontario), Urine test x 2 (1 on site, 1 sent to lab), saliva test, hearing test, vision test and a colour blind test. I don`t see Trican incurring this expense just for nothing, looks promissing!peted Thanks this. -
What base are you thinking of going to. Ya mine took about the same And here I am. Good luck

Will know more when they contact me, but looks to be the Hinton branch more than likely.
I have 4 tickets on my abstract, but no demerit points taken away from my license. How does it work in Alberta, is it number of violations or points that matter. -
Usually points. Most Companies want less than 6 demerits. They might frown when they see all the violations though.

Sanjel / Trican will send you for all the training / tickets you need, doesn't matter if you have tickets already, you'll go through all theirs that are required..
Whoops.. i thought you meant ' oil field tickets '
they go by points here, unhireable at 6, which is 2 speeding tickets - once you get an alberta license and pass GODI you get 3 points forgiven every 2 yearsLast edited: May 4, 2012

3 speeding tickets, all 15 over no points. (2010 and 2011)
1 speeding ticket, 19 over (2.5 years ago)
No demerits.
I hate Ottawa. Cops eager to give tickets every day for the smallest thing. And I drive more tame now that I am not in Toronto.
Lived in Toronto most of my life, never a speeding ticket. Always speeding! If you have been in Toronto, you know what I mean! Driving the speed limit will put you at risk!
Edit: Just read up on Alberta laws regarding Demerits and I would have 6 Demerits until June 03 this year, then only 4 demerits after that. Driving like a grandma now pissing everyone off behind me! Here in Ontario 15 and under tickets give no points, Alberta give 2 points.Last edited: May 5, 2012

I think you will be alright for demerit points boomtruckin. Since Trican has already received your abstract and still booked/payed for your DA and medical it seems your record was clean enough.
-
4 tickets within the last 3 yrs makes you a facility driver. some insurance companies wont even touch you. try and get the 19 km over off your abstract before you start applying. -
Onetrack, if you have the major tickets like h2s, first aid, etc Trican will not send you to renew them unless they are real close to expiring.
