Be forewarned, those CFI drivers are going to paint the rosiest picture you ever seen. #1 They get $1000 bucks per driver they recruit, #2 They are trying to win recruiting contests. They are giving away things like Chevy Denali's and the like to the person who recruits the most. Don't get me wrong, I drove a year and a half for them and was treated with nothing but respect and that goes a long way, however I got tired of doing as much if not more sitting than driving. I'm leaving Sunday to go to Crete, they are going to start me off @ .41 cents a mile plus they have Blue Cross/Blue Shield at half the cost of CFI's ins. Why heck, even if I got the same miles with Crete, thats still a 5 grand a year raise. My own opinion? I think someone bit off a bit more than they can chew right now, they are scrambling to get things ironed out from the take-over by Con-Way. My last week there I had a little over 1000 miles, was the second leg of a 3 leg relay that was only 1200 miles, got it Frid morn in Nashville, relayed it off Frid night in Atlanta, wasn't due in Jacksonville till Monday morn...What the hey?!? The driver that picked it up was po'd. Something else to consider, they had 17 Million Milers quit in 1 day, ya need to ask yourself, why?

just got away from these clowns.complained for a couple of months abouth the miles.when i first started was getting at least 6,000 miles a pay period.after talking to my fleet manager, her supervisor and saftey nothing changed.getting about 4,000 miles per pay period.got tired of the crap and refused to pickup a load and go back home.they got me on the phone with chris in safety who is an unbeliveable jerk told me i was holding the freight hostage.didn't have any freight to hold hostage.then this last pay period set for 3 days drove for about 6 and ran low on hrs at which they gave me a 2600 mile run, then pulled me off because i didn't pickup any hrs for 2 days.after a 34 hr restart ran up to ohio and was given a short run again.that time after starting at 2130 hrs and wouldn't have enough time to pickup the load they wanted i called them back and said i probably could make it.but they said no and sent a message to unassign it from me.well stop for the night at the pocohantus,il yard for the night and delivered my load early.well to my suprise my fleet manager chelsea michaels called me and said your fired for the incident 3 days early.said they wanted me to finish load and take truck back to the drop yard.well they also wanted me to pull a trailer over there for them.if not they were gonna call corporate security. well i took the tractor/trailer over to pocohantus yard like the demanded (threatened).just feel sorry for there next drivers who dont know whats in store for them.

Hate to break it to you, you now have an "abandoned truck and trailer" on your DAC. Per CFI policy, you are not allowed to return your truck to ANY location other than a terminal. I learned this from a friend who turned his in at the Houston drop yard.

Additionally, your post has made the CFI-drivers forum. Comments from drivers that are unable to take your post in context, doubting what you say.

While I am sure they mean well. I do wish they would at least read your post...after all they cut and pasted it in their forum. Before they commented on it.

Don't know what the hell your talking about. They dispatched me there,it's still on the obc. Also checked my dac and its not on there,so maybe you're friend took it there without permission. Also if you never drove for CFI then you do not not what the policy is except by hear say.So son't try to stir up problems, it won't work with me.Like I said I checked my DAC and it's clean. Also I was hired at another job before I dropped off there truck.

CFI to my knowledge doesn't have a drop yard in Houston, maybe thats why he got a abandonment. Also I never sent anything on CFI drivers form. Which is another reason I think you don't know what your talking about.

CFI doesn't have a drop yard in Houston.Just reconfirmed that with CFI's director of safety. No wonder your friend got an abandonment on his record. They also told me they didn't put an abandonment on my DAC, like my new job said.

#1 I left CFI this spring after almost 3 years. I was within 12K of getting my ring. No service failures, ever. No accidents, no tickets, and a clean DAC.

#2 My FRIEND, was dispatched to the drop yard. Then called at home 2 days later, and told that he was to immediately bring it to Joplin, or get it placed on his DAC. I see no reason for him to lie to me. What could it have accomplished? I certianly will NOT be returning to CFI.

#3 Stir up problems? Not likely, CFI does that all on their own. They don't need my help. I only echo what I know to be FACT.

#4 The other board stated there was no way you could get a 2600 miles dispatch from the yard you were refering to. I beg to differ. It is possible, and has been done more than once. Pocahontas to Peoria to Calexico = 2300 miles. Yes, I have pulled those KW loads from the CAT plant. It's even further if you have to deadhead to OH or IN to grab one.

I won't doubt your word. If you say it's true. I too questioned it, as I had never heard mention of a Houston drop yard the entire time I was at CFI.

But, I will not negate my friends word either. There is no reason for him to lie. What possible benefit could he gain?

He doesn't have an abandonment on his record, he took the truck to Joplin, after he was called.

Jeb, I've read your transition from coming to going, and it's interesting. Your first post is from January 2007, and the last is from October, about ten months later. It's rare to see this on a website, as most people don't go into this much detail when a deal goes south. Most will post with glee *whoopppeeee* the fact they're going to a new outift and then fall off the earth when it all comes unglued later, which it almost always does.

Thanks for keeping us posted, brother.
