Yes they did when I filled out the card for them in orientation. My trainer should be by here tomorrow. Done for today. Going to relax and copy over my notes. After talking with him last nite he sounds like someone that teach me what I need to know so I can use what I've learned and be successful in this business. Probably going to be another 5 weeks before I get home. Funny thing is my wife said stay out and get the training you need to he safe and succeed. With her taking care of home and that attitude is half the battle , the rest is on me. Thanks everyone. It means a lot to be a Maverick. It feels good. Ya'll have a good day.

Make sure that you practicd the hard back ups especially when you are tired at the end of the day. You will be glad you did when you are on your own!

Aside from the normal things of pay attention and take notes, I would say make your trainer let you learn to do the work. What I mean by that, do not let him do the securement and tarping so you can get on down the road. By the third week you should be doing everything and he should be just observing. You may wish he would help you with that lumber tarp, but you need to know you can do everything by yourself so when you are by yourself, you have no doubts!
And secondly, back up, back up, back up...get as much practice backing with him there with you as you can.

Would it be wise to keep a log of the places you deliver and pick up from that includes things such as gates to use, procedures they require, etc, that way you have some sort of reference when you go there the next time?

That would never hurt! The main thing to do is look at the directions that Maverick sends you and make sure that they are correct. If they are wrong, send in a correction so the next driver does not have the same problem. They are usually very good. The thing you have to look at closely is what way the directions are written for. Then see how you will be coming in and have it straight in your mind how to get in there.
Take the extra time in the preplan mode...(I do not always do that...lol)
Better to take an extra five minutes planning then 30 getting lost!

Flatbedder 1966, jxu417 and sewerman Thank this.

Do you have a GPS and if so does it usually give the correct directions?
