Those LED lights are a vast improvement over anything stock IMO. It will surely make you feel better about whats up ahead in the road at night that the stock lights didn't show until it was too late to react.... oh my, was that a deer I just hit...lol.

My husband was contacted last week in regards to a dedicated run out of Carlisle/Mt Holly Springs PPG plant. He worked for Maverick approx. 5 yrs. ago. He filled out an application, and is hoping to hear something back soon. He currently works for a driving company where he must sit HOURS waiting to be reloaded. He knows with Maverick, hauling glass, he won't have that issue much, if at all.
I guess I want to double check on everyone's feelings about him going back to hauling glass. Pro's--con's...... He has been so down with the company he is now at......

Nice to read about Maverick and see some pics of the glass trailers. It was kinda disheartening to hear of all the troubles you have had with Maverick though. I have drove years ago with TMC and was thinking about going to Maverick. They told me because of where I live in Baltimore that I had to go glass. Got any pros and cons for Maverick...anybody? I'd like to hear the truckers side of the coin. Especially the glass guys. Thanks all.

Dedicated can be a very good job. Home every weekend and some of them get home during the week as well. No live loading and you pull the
ez roll trailers so no tarping. You also get a minimum salary per week.

If you have read the posts under this thread you have a pretty good idea of my day to day with Maverick. I tell it how it is. The glass division has plenty of problems that's for sure. Mainly the fact that all the equipment is wore slap out. They are just now starting to address some of these issues by replacing trucks this summer. I have seen some new tarps out there bun unfortunately no new trailers or refurbishment of the old ones.
If you have any specific questions let me know, I'd be happy to answer them for you.

Anything would be better than what we have on the '07 trucks. A double D flash light will out shine these headlights. I can keep my high beams on and never get flashed because they are just that dim!

Some of the questions I had was about the equipment, but I guess that was answered with the light issues...lol. I have read your posts, sorry to hear about your first trainer. Some have a good temperament for it and some should just be drivers instead of trainers. After your training, how did they hook you up with your truck? and where?

All new drivers for the glass division are getting new trucks (2013) from either Little Rock or Laurinburg, NC. You will have to "test out" once you finish with your trainer and that will be in one of those locations as well. This could depend on where your trainer lives of the flip of a coining who knows.

One benefit of driving a '07 is getting to tour all the Freightliner and TA shops across America. I'm at the Freightliner dealer in Kansas City now getting my AC fixed for the third time in three weeks. This could be the final straw, getting real tired of breaking down and not making money!

What is the hardest part, in your opinion, of the glass division, and the glass training?
