The "electronic box" that shifts gears is not $3900 bucks LBZ I replaced mine and the part cost $1050 bucks and had four bolts ! Took me about ten minutes to replace and plug in.......anything else? I love the auto shift......maybe I'm just not tough. But i hold a college degree and it does not take that to see that the autos make more sense.
Ever wonder why all the trucks made to hall over 100,000 lbs are autos

    Scania man Thanks this.

I read the posts and its obvious which of the sides came equipped with the most genetic diversity! Some of the posts might as well say "ahhhhuhhhh do ahhh no man!" Honestly guys this fella is attempting, in vain, to educate you numbskulls! The debate was over before it began because "you just can't handle the truth"
If you like the manuals then you like them! Does it make them safer...no. Give you more control...maybe in a few cases. Will a manual cost more to operate....indeed. Are all the Mega HP motors coming equipped with auto now....yes. Are we punks because we like the autos...to you old school uneducated , non business minded , closeminded, DRIVERS (non business owners) , yes and always will be.
Articulate yourself in a manner that makes business sense DRIVERS. The autos are here to stay sure some of the early models had problems most likely because guys like you drove them and did their best to tear them up.....I've hrpeard more than one guy state this very fact.
I myself dreamed of driving a Pete 379 with half a million gears.....then I read a bit and and fell I love with making an income more than the size of my #&$%$%.

If you have the money drive what you want its your money! The smart money is spent on the autos these days and will be in the future.

The Scania is the collect truck out there right now and makes the 379 look like a joke.

Times have changed guys. Just like the stupid new laws and regs coming out and just passed though what does "this makes the most sense " have to do with anything! Nothing. So soon the US government anyway will just tell you what to buy, his fast, far, quick you can drive. That you need to check with them before you pee, smoke(that will be outlawed....hell I could go on all day my point is WHAT YALL THINK DOESNT MATTER JUST ASK KING HUSSIN OBAMA WHAT TO DO HE WILL TELL YOU ..........then you can just HOPE you can CHANGE any of the factors.

I said i might give them a shot, yes i bought a kenny car becuase it made business sensr, though acvusing us of being non business minded, i just replaced truck that could out pass anything up to and including A deisal bear on the highway like he was standing still. It hurt you at the pump, some of us out here just are very resistant to change, bull headed ( just like the animals i used to haul ).the scania is now the king of the cabovers, the autos might be the wave of the future, i might test one out if my LONGNOSE kennyboxer ever quits ......

that's what he's saying, and even though I can drove both, I'll take my auto any day. I have as much control as your manual, if need be I can put in hold or manual mode as needed, no different than your manual.

    Scania man Thanks this.

You can get the Allision 6 speed automatic in an RV rated at 650hp. Just throwing that one out there.

I just got done looking at the I-shift spec sheets online and they all say organic material for the clutch so there is not a torque convertor in it.

Give it another year and Allision Transmission is going to bring out a game changer in the transmission world.
