Awww no need to get all sour you can still have your pride. regardless of my future your future or everyone's future, these are how the times roll. people used to hunt down their food gut it and grub. I bet you hit up your local walmart, just the way it is. As the future of today there are more people and more stuff that needs movement so of course they need to make things easier for people "like" me. If i didnt have gps etc i would adapt just like y'all did..but being a steering wheel holder im enjoying my time, the views that i see, the travels, etc. And regardless of when i started, im out here just like y'all

No bitterness here, I just wish you and all the other "floaters" had the chance to experience the "brotherhood" that used to be.... the challenge of doing something worthwhile and becoming dam good at it.... the simple pleasure of walking right past the nattering herd to the "Professional Driver's Section" of a good truckstop where a smiling waitress had a hot cuppa Joe on the counter already for you (usually free to truckers) and you usually got a handshake from 3 or 4 drivers you knew.
Yup, that used to be. I miss that. Pity that you folks will never know it.Onetruckpony, allniter, d o g and 2 others Thank this. -
There used to be a lot more camaraderie in this industry. Now, it is becoming more and more difficult to find another driver to have a civil conversation. It is usually even difficult to find someone to respond on the CB. Drivers were respected and you would NEVER find a pee bottle in a truck stop or on the side of the road. If you don't respect yourself you can't expect others to respect you.
