Got it. I was thinking you would load for Cal after you deliver Wed in Pa., then deliver in Cal on Monday. By them giving you that extra day you can work your hours to best fit your schedule. Delivering in Cal on day 9 instead of day 8 makes all the difference in the world.

In my case I'm only 500 miles from Pittston, so it wouldn't be as crucial to get back home before running out of hours.

It's the amount of money the government allows you to live on the road. It is tax free, and it is $59 a day. For every day you are away from home Calex will not deduct taxes from the per diem total. Meaning, if you are out 7 days in a pay period and you earn $1,000, you will only pay taxes on $587. The other $413 is not taxed.

Time to go to work. I have a 9am appt. in Miami. Jason never sent my preplan over on Friday. Maybe I'll get lucky and get another day at the house.....not. Be safe all, God Bless.

And then when the new hrs of service kick in we will have to have two periods of midnite to 6am to get the restart. Thats gonna throw a wrench in the gears for some of us.

    JohnBoy Thanks this.

Yes I did. I was empty in Miami at 11:30, then I met my wife for lunch, went on to Lake Wales and was loaded on my way at 4pm Monday. I got empty yesterday at 10am.

I have a load going back to Miami but Louie said he's waiting on some other west coast freight. We'll see.

Miami it is. My load will be ready at 6pm. Third week in a row to Miami. I'll be home early Saturday morning. Jason already said I will load another watermelon load Monday.

Its a tough job but somebodys got to do it, lol. Three straight weekends at home, I know your hating that.

Any of their Florida freight final out in the Tampa area? I just spent 20 years there and have plenty of friends in the area, would be a good place for me to do a reset.
