Anything Good About Western Express?

One quesrion on many apps is "did you ever attend an orientation and not go to work for the company?" Some will ding your DAC. One guy I knew went to orientation heard the BS the new company was spewing, he walked. They hit him for refusal to take a drug test. It took almost 2 years and a lawyer to get it off his DAC. He went back to the old company. They were set to rehire until they read his DAC. (Eagle Transport)

what if you accept an invitation to attend their orientation and then call to say you're not coming. i've been invited twice and they bought bus tickets. and twice i've not gone,mainly because of all the complaints on this forum. will this go on my dac? now i emailed her and said i can go this weekend but haven't had a reply. well i blew it,no doubt. i feel like a heel about the bus tickets and i will pay them back.

 

Don't worry about that USN. They get hosed that way all the time.

 

If tracy is the lady you emailed , shes no longer with the company which is why she hasnt responded. not sure what she did, but Im going tomorrow to finish my orientation. i was there last week but walked out cause I thought I had a better job lined up. Ill let ya know how it goes. but still not a fan of the whole $200 for the first three weeks.

 

In 2009 when I was in school you could see their Nashville yard from out school. We went there for a "field trip." Their head recruiter was such a prick, and the scum you saw that was drivers? I decided they were my last desperate choice. Told me if I was a non smoker? A trainer rolled in that smoked? That was my trainer. And they also lived in the North East.

 

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Western Express is what YOU make of it. I have been disappointed at times but my policy is tomorrows an other day and you have GOT to take the good with the bad. This thinking has helped me overcome many negative feelings and the tomorrows are rarely a repeat. Having a good DM and Terminal manager is a big plus for me. My first DM lied and cheated me hard but that was short lived because if you let them do this long enough at some point they screw themselves. She was sorry after she dealt with my patience . I respect people until they disrespect me. Shippers and receivers as a rule are hard on us BUT NOT All ARE LIKE THAT. Get in ..get out... drive and forget about the idiots you left behind. Just hope the receiver is twice as human as the shipper was. This business has taught me patience and understanding. You need to learn how to deal with people like that. I've wanted to reach through the glass many times and rip their head off but I bite my tongue and pocket my fist. Tomorrow is coming so ...forget about it.

That's like something simuliar 2 me dealing w/breakdown fm Aug to Oct 2012 2 96'Int'l 9400 series blue SMX tractors 1st one they wanted me 2 drive 30miles fm Murfreesboro 2 Nashville w/no fan belt,& recently w/current one drive almost 50miles north in WVA to a tire shop till they finally realized the picture fm my cameraphone I sent 1hr earlier had da bubble on right side steer tire was the size of a softball & the tire guy did'nt arrive till 2hrs later to where I stopped 2 call them 4 directions (They had me rushing & never gave a name or address)because the company that dispatched him did'nt tell him where I was & I told them twice where I was exactly plus I could've stayed where I was when I spotted da bubble a mile or so fm where I was suppose 2 p/u a ld & I went 2 shipper they go home at 10:00pmEDT ,had 2 wait till the morning 2 get another p/u appt & now I'm totally screwed w/other thing that happened afterward..That's another story 4 later!!!

 

Ur better off not going 2 Nashville & being hired, U don't get da money they promise U & they lieabout everything plus their totally dysfunctional w/everything incl breakdown, load planning, & driver managing. Nobody talks 2 each other & a lot incl da one's I posted myself are all true....Just don't worry about paying anyone back, Find U a better job & stay clear of Western Express....Period!!!!

 

Fender, w/Hurricane Sandy about 2 hit where I live in NJ & my old lady was able 2 move my van w/help 2 higher ground I was about 2 really go viral on their heads but now their going 2 hear a somewhat calmer but still angry me as soon as get ready 2 leave this Pilot in Texas go 2 my delivery 50miles south of this place....one of them is money or lack of........Nuff Said!!
