    On Guard Issue
I forgot to tell this last week.....I was cruising up fancy gap doing about 30 to 35 mph.
There are two heavy hauls doing about 15 so I move to the center lane and start to pass them. As I get about a quarter way up along side of the first one, my on guard gives several real fast beeps and then slams on the brakes...I come to almost a stop in the center lane and try to get going again. The transmission will not stop jumping on me weather I am in manual or auto. So I stop the truck completely and it then starts out. I quickly move to the right hand lane and fortunately no one was right on my tail or it could have been bad.
So I catch up to them again and make the pass with no incidents. It happened so quick I did not have time to panic or get scared....Just dealt with it and moved on.
I hate that thing and would never put one on a truck if I owned it!

It's happened to me a lot. There wont be anything even close and all of a sudden the On Guard goes nuts and hits the breaks. I think it needs corrective lenses.

My vacation is almost over and I think I'm catching a cold. I have to drop my mom off at the airport Monday morning then go by the yard and get the paperwork and go to the TWIC office

Mine too! My OnGuard sees shadows (of overpasses) and hits the brakes sometimes. Freaks me out....

Decent week this week. Ended up in HellHole USA again this week though, but am getting a little more familiar with it now. Got home Friday afternoon at 3pm though! That was really nice.

Oh, I also wanted to say that this week was alot more like the runs I got when I was in RAT division too. I hadn't been to Virginia since I switched to Dedicated back in late February. It was kind of nice diving up 81 from Roanoke, VA to Harrisburg,PA again taking in the scenery over there, and not having any idea where I would go load or deliver at next and what the load would be.... That was fun.
I enjoyed myself this week for the most part.

That could turn into a bad situation real fast! That needs to be brought to safety's attention if it hasn't already. It sounds like the peripheral view on that thing is too sensitive and detects objects it shouldn't.

My week started with me sitting at the truck Monday morning since I was sent home mt.
I got a load to pick up at Protec in Leipsic Ohio. 94 mile dh with 535 loaded. I knew I had been there before, but did not remember it until I saw it...usual...lol
Got a real heavy coil of 19,320 going to Steel Tech in Decatur Al. Again, I knew I had been there, but could not remember until I crossed the river and saw the boats.

From there I got to go to Southland tube to pick up a pre loaded trailer...oh the joy.
This one was missing a front mud flap...no big deal and had one of the marker lights out.
So I got as far as I could in the light and shut down and called in a breakdown call.
They asked if I could make it to a shop or a TA and I said no...I need to run early in the morning and I need it fixed tonight. So The guy came out and fixed it.
This load was going to Namasco in Charlotte NC. I just knew there would be another preloaded trailer for me...
Next load pick up at Charlotte Pipe in Monroe going to Leesburg Va.
When I pull around to the trailer, the guy is already working on it.
It needed new brake pads on one of the wheels, had a massive air leak on the one air bag and three lights out. Then I find about 20 vertical blocking pieces of wood along with an assortment of other wood.
I finally got out of there and made it up the road and stopped with about 10 minutes at Brentles in Mt Airy.
Made my delivery the next day and got a pick up at Gaf in Myerstown Pa going to Louisville Ky.
I will make my delivery on Monday and head on down there on Sunday.
    Have a great weekend!

Jim, when you pick up a preloaded trailer do you swap out your tarps and other equipment?

I made it home this morning. Delivered in Detroit yesterday around 1800 had 2 hours left but I knew I wouldn't get a W/A that late in the day. I could've made it to the house, but I didn't want to go home empty. I know better than to be caught in Detroit after 9 pm, so I went 8 miles over to Warren, MI. We have a customer there that allows O/N parking. I hid out over there until this morning. Ended up going home empty anyway because there wasn't any loads in the area. :biggrin_2557:
