No "but"s. You either knew it and lied about the specs, or you didn't know it and you looked foolish. So which was it? Are you a liar...or do you just not know what you're talking about? I'm going to go with the latter, because you seem to be spouting off a lot of "facts" that just aren't true in this thread.

I didn't lie about any of it, it's in plain black and White if you care to look it up before you embarrass yourself any further !

1:12 it says it disengages the clutch in the low range...so essentially you're coasting, which is unsafe and in a lot of places, illegal. It was also one of the major issues I had with the autoshift I had for a short while...it would get to the low range and just coast as you're trying to time a break in traffic to avoid coming to a complete stop. Then, when you find your break in traffic and get on the gas, it was slow to engage the gear...and always picked the wrong gear. If I would have put the transmission into 4th, the truck would select 2nd...the engine would rev up as it realized it picked the wrong gear. It would pull the transmission back out of gear and have to wait for the RPM's to drop again before it would slip into 4th gear...meanwhile, you've already started your turn and traffic is quickly approaching as you're hoping the stupid thing figures out what gear to go into soon. In my manual, I would have cleared the intersection with both the truck and trailer before the stupid automated transmission figured out which gear it should have been in.

Sorry, you can keep that POS.

Then at 3:58, you see the wheel spin/hop. With a clutch, I can control the application of power to the wheels to avoid that situation altogether. Bouncing the wheel like that is a great way to tear stuff up.

...and I didn't see anything particularly "speedy" about the shifts. Yeah, there was a blinky light indicating the shift was occurring, but the engine speed still had to match the road speed for the gear the transmission was being shifted into before it would go into gear....same as a manual transmission.

Low range in these is - 10 mph, hope you could control that crazy speed when coasting!

I did. I didn't see where you made any claims regarding the C16 cat other than the bogus claim that it is a 575 hp/1850 ft/lbs engine....which is incorrect. The C16 was rated at 600 (& later at 625) hp and 2050 ft/lbs of torque.

Since you don't seem to have any inclination to seek the truth, I even looked it up for you.

    From Cat's website:
Since you claim you "knew" the C16 was a 600 hp / 2050 ft/lbs engine and yet you claimed it was a 575 hp / 1850 ft/lbs....if it wasn't a lie, then what exactly was it? The facts are the facts...and they say you are wrong. The only person with ANY cause for embarrassment around here is you.

An impressive system. Shifting faster is beyond the capability of the mechanical components but I can shift a manual that fast. I like the engines, the door latches (why are we stuck using a design from half a century ago?), and especially liked the lady coming right out with paperwork as soon as he dropped the trailer. How'd they manage that?

Scania man, i know yall are having your war, but you talking about the scania engines really has no significance when compared to American Oil burners. Seeing as they wont ever really be put into service over here.
