Small town. Kinda dirty. Refinery right in middle of town. Big Federal Prison and smaller prison camp located little W of town. Used to be good fishing in Choke Canyon Res out by prison. Haven't fished there in 10 yrs but sure it is still good. Couple of decent restaurants. Not too far to George West. Farther to San Antonio. Not a bad place if the money is good. Not as scenic as ND. Will still be plenty hot in Sept.

I ,ve been in Texas a few times, but never in the summer months. I know it gets over 100 alot, but is it a dry hot or really hummid in the southern part of the state ? Since the state of Texas is huge, how is the weather in the nothern part of the state, a dry hot or hummid. Sorry for the stupid questions, but I got different answers from Texas folks that live there. I usually drive at night, then sleep during the day with the truck turned off. I can take the high hummidity and temps, but don,t like high temps with low hummidity. thx

S TX is higher humidity. W TX is more dry and desert like. I am opposite. Don't mind 110' if humidity is 15% like Iraq. 95' and high humidity like Gulf Coast is tough. Just hard to work when soaking wet. From about Austin S and E the humidity starts going up pretty quick. Pretty steady winds off Gulf.

JM Oilfield Service is looking for Vac truck drivers in Dilly and Luling. 830-672-8000, you need to have tanker and hazmat

K-3BMI is looking for vac tanker drivers in Victoria. 361-575-5555, you need to have tanker and hazmat

Basic Energy Services is looking for a wireline operator 361-578-3503

Schneider in Victoria has hired a lot of new oil tanker drivers and getting so full they are letting some of their problem drivers go.

Sun Coast is still looking to hire drivers. They have hired a lot of new people but they are growing fast.
