A little hussel this morning and by noon I have the new QC system installed. So now it is enjoy the afternoon and sunday so I can do the workshop and elog classes on monday. Said hi to emu before we both went to take care of business.

me: i have no clue, I dont set their rates. they told me the cost and i knew to call. they are asking for $250. You're more than welcome to call if you think unreasonable (gives him number).

them: i spoke to rec. i was told lumper is $190. do you want to verify before i sned you a check for $190? (<- exactly as they typed)
me: 190 it is then. do you need me to resend request for $190?
them: no, but im confused as to how we could have a $60 difference. are they trying to play games with you?

Why do I get a picture of William Shatner giving a karate chop in the air at the lumpers?

 

Last time we played that game with them we ended up with 12 cases of OS&D because the lumpers were not happy. Had to find a Food Bank that would take it and the 'manuever' our 70 foot tractor/trailer into their facility. The entire trailer was trashed with broken pallets, etc.

 

After reading through the forum here it makes me so glad that I chose to leave Stevens. I dont have to put up with any of that crap where Im at now. It truly is a family atmosphere.

No deadlines, appointments, etc. The load gets there when it gets there. My dispatcher is one the owners of the company. Many times he gives me a choice of runs. He will bend over backwards to put me on a run that will pay me better as I am still the low man on the totem pole and dont make as much as the 20 year drivers. He has never once tried to BS me like they do at Stevens.

One thing that I dont understand is that all of you Stevens drivers complain alot. If its so bad, why do you stay? Quit complaining and move on where the grass is greener.
