Is your profile correct that you only have 3 years experience? And how long have you been a trainer? What requirements does Mav have for becoming a trainer? Looks like you are a company man, getting the MPG's they want and keeping up with the work load. I'm sure that goes a long way toward persuading them to let you train others in the same way.
Any Questions for a Driver Trainer for Maverick?

Maverick is very lucky to have him, especially as a Driver Instructor.
sewerman Thanks this. -
I am wondering if Maverick has any trainers who live in southeast Missouri or anywhere reasonably close?

Good thread and information. Information is a G O O D thing!

As a new driver for Maverick, 6 weeks now, the auto shift is a great thing in most city situations. It lets you concentrate on many other things like signs, cars, ya da ya da. The bigger frustration I have is the choked down engines which make the tractor sluggish and a real snail. 25 mph climbing hills in MO. Maverick web site says the trucks run 65-70, HAH, my 2012 DD15 tops out at 64 if there is no head wind and if you are going to meet MPG requirements 62 or less is nessasary in my truck. Would be nice if we could at least stay with traffic in the hills. My 2 cents.
My trainer had me drive floored most of the time untill he got a letter about his MPG. Then we had to back off to 62. Hey, its still nice equipment so I'm happy about that. Other companies show you shinny Pete's with 750K on them. -
Hey Guys - I've been lurking around on the Maverick threads here for awhile; and like most of what I hear. I called recruiting a couple of times but really got no answer to what I'm looking for.
So here's my question. What is the time you have to spend at Maverick to become an "Instructor", IF YOU ARE ALREADY AN EXPERIENCED "INSTRUCTOR" from another company?
My time here in Afghanistan is nearing to the end (JULY), and I'm thinking about Maverick's Glass Div or TCD.. When I called Lil' Rock they never said a time frame, just said " it takes a lil while"...
Something a bit more definitive - please?
Thank-you in advance,

Hey Guys, this is "Dream Chaser" I left Maverick in 05 to take care of some medical issues that cropped up. Old injuries from Navy that needed fixed and a lot of rehab. Now I am 110%... Anyway I am coming back but I need to know about some of the new rules and stuff. I let my CDL go during the down time due not needing or able to pass a physical etc... So now Ohio laws have changed and require me to pass a MECert before they issue the CDL. That being the case and it being state law and all. Does Maverick still send everyone out for their physical the first day or have they left the initial physical up to the driver. Are the MeCerts still good for 2 years or is it an annual thing now? Hope to see you all soon.
