Yep, I got it all back. Really sucked going from an 8 year CDL prior to Hazmat to a 4 year CDL with Hazmat. That 30-something Florida charges is ridiculous IMO. I had just got my Passport right BEFORE heading off to Orientation but I presented the reciepts and they reimbursed it all even the cost of the picture.

    paul_4lp Thanks this.

They refused to continue my employment for doing EXACTLY what you posted in your last Sentence. Delivered in New Brunswick. Picked up in New Brunswick and delivered in Connecticut. Planned to pickup in Connecticut headed to Niagara, Ontario. I guess on that particular day they chose to enforce their Forced dispatch policy. Only load I ever refused. DAC says violated company policy.

I've only been driving for 5 1/2 years and I can say Conway is the best company I worked fot. Don't get me wrong thier not perfect. But if a truck or trailer is in need of repair you don't have to worry about a lot of red tape. They direct you to closest shop to get fixed. If you have a slow week talk to fleet manager. For example one week I barely broke 1400 miles I addressed my concern with fleet manger the next week got well 3000. I see a lot of dvrs will complain but not address issue with fleet manger. How can a manager fix something if they are not aware of issues. I get frustrated as we all do. If I could change 3 things in the company they would be. 1 get rid off all the tag axle trks. (Of course this would cost a lot of money. 2 I would but APUs on all the trks. (Cost money) 3. Hold drivers accountable if proven they dropped a broken trailer without road service knowing about it. But hey just my wish list. Christmas is 7 months away.

I would if pulled that in a heartbeat...across the bridge ...forced dispatch is forced dispatch...going to Canada ...once ,twice ...or three times back to back or not ...funny thing is the load u refused dispatch was 98% run in the US!! Yeah sure you would prob had to do a CA pick up

Your are lucky Knight hired you on...most companies do not like refusing a dispatch or Abandonment of TRUCK or TRL ...

I think my record was 9 crossings in 1 pay period, as far as those who have trouble/fear the fact they speak French up there fun fact population wise the US and Canada have about an equal number of French speakers, outside Qubec (95% French speaking) the rest of the country speaks English except pockets in New Brunswick and Manitoba as well as pockets of Celtic languages in New Foundland.

I like it up there better due to its cleanliness and the general nice demeanor of people (This excludes Québécois people, they nearly all have attitudes).

When I do go to Canada the people I had to talk to all were nice. I just don't like going cause every time I go across I lose a day driving waiting on ACE to come back to the US.
