Told My driver manager this morning what had happened, and his comment was, that upstairs is on them about why are drivers not clearing quickly? This is one reason.
This afternoon, he calls me, and says he took my situation upstairs, as an example of why drivers are not clearing. And that I was now Number One on the priority list, and that I would be paid for 1 day of layover pay. And there is a message on my New QC stating that.
Still waiting on the truck, so it will be morning before I leave, but sometimes, they do listen.

Well they installed the EOBR in my truck yesterday. I had taken it across the street and left it for the installers while I sat thru Cheney's last class (recert), then went back at the end of the day and picked it up.
Those installers (contractors) trashed the inside of my truck, left the lights on and a dead battery.
Fortunately I was parked close enough to a trailer that I was able to stretch my jumper cables from the TK to my engine and jump it.
Got inside and the thing liked to blast my ears off (thru the radio speakers) about logs, messages, and other crap.
Couldn't get it quiet. Finally someone showed me how to turn the volume down.
I can tell I'll have a real problem with this thing since it talks to you like an old lady with diarreah of the mouth.
Imagine those 2am or 3am 'high importance' QCs that come across...."congratulations to Jerry Smith who resigned his lease...."
If this thing doesn't get bludgeoned with a hammer in the first week, it will be a miracle.
So took it to the line and parked it....spent some time back at the driver's lounge cooling off (wishing I had some scotch!), went back out to the truck and it's making this gawdawful screeching sound like 20 untuned radio stations all at the same time.
Must have been 80 or more decibles.
Couldn't get it to do anything, so went over to Road Rescue who sent me to the shop who said, "bring it here, we'll pull the fuse".
Came back to the truck and it's silent.
Display is blank.
Still blank, still silent...must have been in the death throws.
esta morta!
So I'll get it over to Bay 22 tomorrow to have them take a look at it.
So far it and I are not friends.
I have a feeling that one week with this thing and 'mother' will route me back to see how I can screw things up so bad, so quick!
Maybe I'll feel better after thursday's class on it's operation.
Then again, maybe pigs will fly. -
Any trainers going to be on the yard on Friday. I need a trainer and would prefer one that takes showers and uses caps for their "piss bottles". PM me on here since I really dont want to sit all weekend in Dallas doing nothing.
Apparently the "trainer" I had reserved no longer wishes to train. Gotta love finding out at the last minute.
Otherwise Im playing Russian Roulette with whoever they assign me. Not looking forward to that since the last trainer was such a "GEM". -
How long does it take to usually get a trainer at Stevens. I will be there in June after I graduate from Roadmaster at Chattanooga TN. I know I have orientation then get assigned a trainer. Just wanted a time frame.

Unki L you only wait approx 1-3 days for a trainer TOPS. I went home after my bad experience so Im in a different situation then if I was sitting around Dallas. Unfortunetely I am now coming in on Friday (was scheduled to meet up with another trainer) but now being memorial day weekend Im thinking im gonna be sitting for an extended period of time. We'll see.
Unkl L Thanks this. -
Thank u. Just didn't want to be sitting around waiting forever. Ready to start making some money.
