I will believe it when I see it. Never heard of any law / rule about valve caps.
-
So what do they do when the truck has tire inflation and monitoring system installed? Some of those parts on the gage and so are plastic.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
I can't find anything either but our company says steel caps are required also.
-
Violation under what regulation? I couldn't find anything in Tn code either. Mostly they mirror FMCSA but thought I would check them. I did not find anything spec'ing any valve stem or cap type.
-
Caps do nothing but keep dirt out. Metal or plastic serves no added protection. -
joey83854 and CondoCruiser Thank this.

Starting to sound liike white sheets in Ct to me.Not hard next time he calls for load ask for the number. You as the carrier are supposed to sign and return within ten(?) days right acknowledging the inspection.

I've been looking for an hour and can't find any regulation to support this. Might call company later and see, because they tell us this is law as well and provide handfuls of caps to make sure trailers have them on it. I checked my FMCSR Pocketbook (2/2012 Printing) and can't find jack there either.
