How many times has the old Vince Lombardi been mentioned in this thread ? 30 ? 40 ? I stopped there last February for the first time in ages and it was pretty good. Yeah I know it's a service plaza and not a truck stop, but I gotta tell ya, that place was a real hoot back in the 80's and 90's !!
I hadn't heard that. I was there a few years ago....what a fustercluck.... I also spent the night at the one at Coxsackie, NY last week. Wasn't too impressed with that either....
Well it's nice to know that some things haven't changed after all. The food was always good there, and the booze was plentiful. Advice - when you have to park somewhere in the Hudson to hour up, go there. Eat and drink, then drink some more .... then do the shower thing.
The Pilot in lancaster tx., off exit 470 off of I=20 is crackwhore city. Dope dealers and crackwhores around that whole block in front of Werner enterprises.
I have to defend the Baltimore T/A because its not that bad. I live in Baltimore and passes it frequently. I Hung there as a kid peeping in the bobtail trucks wishing I could start it up and chill in sleeper. One day last year I took a trip there and talked to some drivers. As I was leaving to go home a driver approached me inquiring about some crack cocaine. He rode public transportation with me while I directed him to some. Easy 50$ ( no I didn't sell it to him).Several months later while I was in AZ I got a call from this guys wife and he apparently went missing. I told her the absolute truth to why my number had been called from his phone.I said all that to say that the Baltimore T/A is not as bad as ppl say. There's also lots of places to park in Baltimore being as though the police are relaxed on commercial vehicle parking. Just my 2 cents.
That's quite a story. So the moral (using the word loosely) of this story, is that the Baltimore T/A is a great place because there are people there willing to lead some poor lost soul to a little dope, even taking them thru public transit, oh .... and getting paid $50 for their services ..... which is what that was .... A service. So --why was your phone number on this guys phone again ? Or was this just not a 'one time deal' after all. One last point, personally, I have never been given a break by Baltimore PD for parking. I know of no one that has. Matter of fact, MD in general is one of the most ticket-happy States around when it comes to commercial vehicles. If you do a forum search, you'll even find other threads about that very topic. But thanks for your 2 cents ..... it was ..... entertaining
