I see you are about my age. You know when we were faced with being drafted to go to Vietnam some of us got drunk when we were 18 and got DUI's. Back then the DUI's were not considered a big deal. Now, I understand all about how bad a DUI is and everything, but let me guess about MadMax, he probably got a DUI when he was 18, then he went out and volunteered himself to serve in Iraq or Afghanistan while a war was going on --- a real gutsy move on anyone's part to volunteer while a war is going on. He probably is a changed man after coming out of the military. Back then we forgave people after they served. A lot of those retired cops and fireman from our generation had multiple DUI's in their youth and turned out to be excellent police and firemen. I guess times have changed, but #### it would sure be nice to give some of these guys a second chance for a screw-up that happened before they served.

I made made 42k my last year as a firefighter/paramedic. That is the average pay across the country. Some pay more, however, they're very competitive and difficult to get a spot, you often have to put yourself through the academy without pay because they want you already firefighter 1 and 2, and they are busy as hell. While you may say that's okay at first, it's s very extremely stressful job and that level of business catches up to you quickly.

Too bad you don't live near me. My local manager is looking for w couple of drivers to do the same kinda routes I do. Out one night, home one night. Off weekends and holidays. I never gross less than $1100 weekly, never run over about 2500 miles on a busy week. Percentage pay.
