canadian drivers dont hurt your rates one iota--unless you are hauling accross border--the rates coming out of canada really suck--the profit is in the back haul going into canada--and yes most canadian companys pay their share on supplemental health insurance--along with the taxes and higher fuel and higher wages--the profit margin is probabely less than for american company--and they shouldnt have stopped burning the trucks--i think schneiders would make a good fire as they are undercutting like crazy

Using your head is what it is all about. How to make the best money with the rules in place.
Carriers can't force people to do things? If they didn't, there would not be the rules in place, that are in place today.
Yes. it is quite simple. If you can't play the game by the rules, whether trucking or poker, get out of the game.

So I can 'drive' all 14... or when I start the clock am I limited to 11(work is work). I said mandated 'SPLIT'. So I could do a 6 + 4 split when needed?

Just how can a carrier 'force' you do do something? There IS a word, it's called NO. It's IS short, to the point and unyielding... If you don't have the fortitude to say NO, yes get out of the game.

How long have you been driving?Things are changing yr after yr and not in the drivers favor.More and more companies are going to elogs.More laws are getting implimented Soon every company will be forced into elogs. When you first started driving, who was your first company? You sure are quick to judge the newbies for what companies they choose and I bet when u was a newby you did the same thing. They have to start somewhere, give em a break.Their choices are limited. One day when they get the exp, they'll move onto better companies.

What people are missing is that EOBR's are just the tip of the ice berg. I was told by 2 Boyle drivers that they are running a experiment for the government by installing cameras, directed at the driver and the video is being recorded through their qualcomm system. Don't think that our micro managing government will be happy with just EOBR's my friends. Before you know it there will be video and audio recording too!

When it comes to hauling sensitive DOD commodities, nothing is done without a price. Did it for 12 years.
