Has anyone felt that they have been discriminated against when applying for employment at TMC?

Maybe.......My app was refused, (I have no criminal record, and no DUI's or accidents).......perhaps my age? I'm in my mid 50's.

Yes, if you cannot provide a solid work history, if you are a felon, previous history of drug use, if you have more than 3 moving violations on your MVR and if you have negative information on your DAC. You may not be hired if you live in a certain area because of the difficulty in getting you home. Being over 50 is a big plus.

Do you mean that TMC actually prefers drivers over the age of 50?

Thanks gman... The question was for people more like yourself, that applied and got denied, and not for the obivious "felony", "bad driving record", or "etc".

    Ready to Go,

I'm starting school on Monday, thanks to your help. I can't tell you how sorry I am to read the words in your posting, as I am hot for TMC as well, and find myself thinking twice everytime I read a negative thread about them.

Please reply and let me know your husband's name; if he's still in school, I'd like to introduce myself and shake his hand. He's very lucky to have a wife who loves him so much.

Wow thats cool. I'm glad you have the opportunity. His name is James. Black cowboy hat most of the time, dresses country. He will have one more week, guess you are coming in on his last week. He's driving on the road that week so you would only see him when he would be leaving in one or getting out. I'm sure tho there will be some time he is just messing around. they don't have enough trucks for everyone who is ready to drive so he just hangs out and helps the ones who are driving on the yard backing up. i would tell him to look you up, i guess i could tell him that everyone that was new checking in on Sunday at the motel to ask if they are gman, lol. (the rooms are nice to. nothing fancy and not alot of extra's but they are clean and a place to sleep. you will have a room mate so i hope you don't get a dud. my husband lucked out and got someone that had things in commom with him. i'm going up next week and stay a few nights, not in his room ofcourse, i have to get my own. lol.) I'll tell him to look for you coming in or Monday morning. I'm so glad i could help you. i wonder if you are from AR and got the grant or had to pay the $6000? we were so lucky in catching that grant. be nice if i knew i helped someone else out that much, for us that is quite a bit of money.

Hey if there is anyone else out there in AR who wants to go to driving school and doesn't have the money I can give you the same info i gave gman and the only thing you have to pay is $58 for your CDL's once you graduate. its also only a 3 week course. i couldn't figure out how they can learn it all that fast but they do. another thing they do is if you don't get it in 3 weeks you get to stay and keep trying till you either get it or quit.

OH and if you do meet him, :biggrin_25525:go ahead and let him know how lucky he is. he forgot how lucky earlier this year and were still together. so he's more lucky than you knew.

    best luck

There is more to dicrimination than the black white issue...But then again some people think dicrimination is just about race.
