Trouble getting a trucking job

If it's out there that you lied then you do have a problem. Put yourself in their shoes. You're going to turn over a large amount of responsibility and a truck with cargo that has a high dollar value to someone that can not be honest? It doesn't matter to the companies why you left the job when you tell then you were not right for that job. It does matter if you're truthful. And the reason they want to know about any gaps in employment is for several reasons but they must show continuity and maybe they want to know if you were unemployed because you were incarcerated among other reasons. You've got a hole to dig out of and I believe you'll never get anywhere filling out applications on-line. You'd be better off going to the company and placing a face to the application and explaining what you did. A smaller company may not even care about all that.

 

If you weren't paid then you don't need to mention them. I wouldn't even call it lying since you weren't exactly employed.

 

I recently got a copy of my dac report and it does not include any jobs except trucking jobs. most companies will only check your dac report. just keep filling out applications, sooner or later you will get picked up. Also, you don't have to put a job that you previously held, unless it was a trucking job.

 

Some companies have started requiring affidavits for verifying periods of unemployment, usually if they do ask you for one, its not that big of a deal, just take it to a friend/family member and they fill out their name, address, phone number and sign it. not too complicated then the company just calls them up and asks how long you were unemployed...pretty simple, i have made a few of those phone calls myself in the past. legally I dont think they can ask your references why you were unemployed, just if you were unemployed. just like anything else though, if you really want to drive, then dont give up....

 

NOT TRUE. You must list the past three years of employment whatever it is. See FMCSR §391.21(b) (10)

 

lol not to many get unemployment by paper check.now they issue you a debit card.and load it on payday.been thier done that

 

i take it no one has thought to even consider the information that is in the DAC report? i hate to be the one to tell you, but your criminal history is part of that report.
