I kinda like the Carlisle shop. Took a trailer in with: one tire that had a bent valve stem making it impossible to check the psi, a second tire that leaked back out of the valve stem except when the cap was on, and a third tire that I aired up the night before when I picked it up and it leaked back down to 50 psi overnight. Also had an upper front light with only two bulbs burning. Got the trailer back 6 hours later with: a DOT inspection, SIX new tires, a new air line, rewired new light, and properly adjusted slack adjusters. And that was under a hot load that they rescheduled twice. I have taken a trailer in to the Indy shop with 3 tires that ALL should have been replaced under a 45,000 lb load and told none of them were bad enough to be mess with. BS. My safety director told me to get him involved if I ever encounter that again and I surely will.

Here at the Joliet terminal tonight. Going to get up and go the Pilot in the morning. This place still sucks. Transflo machine is down just like the last time I was here and the bathrooms and showers smell like someone died in them. Glad Pilot is so close.

Spent Tuesday night at customer in Warrenton, MO. By the time they got me unloaded it had been 3.5 hrs. Tonight at the Flying J in Edwardsville, IL. Ran across xlsdraw at the Indy terminal today. Neither one of us recognized each other at first, but it had been about 15 months since we had seen each other. Ran across a team I met while I worked at Celadon today too. It was going to be about a 30 mile round trip to catch up with them. I told them maybe next time.

Did Knight chg their policy of no parking in truck stops or rest areas in the state of GA due to cargo theft?!!
I did them a 'favor,' and shuttled 3 MT's (I brought my own MT and dropped off when got to Dalton initially) from Chattanooga, TN to Dalton, GA across state lines to my p/u customer for load the next day; and after, wasnt allowed by customer (carpet co.) to park o/n in their yard---had to go next door to the Pee-lot T/S. Safety called me to warn me, but told them I had no other choice of where to safely park and use services...they backed off....another Knight 'horror story'...Last edited: Jun 16, 2012
