I drove for Florilli Corp. for about 4.5 years. This company did nothing but good for me. I got as many miles as I wanted. Had a new Truck just about every year. Made good money. Hauled where I wanted. Which was just about everywhere the ran. Calif to Wi., to Atlanta, Ga. Didn't even mind running to New York. They had the best of customers. The thing is if you are really a good driver and didn't mind running your ### of they treated you very good. Complain and you get just what you deserve. Mr. Fritzer and I were good friends. He was a truck driver like you and I. He started with 2 trucks and made the company what it is today. He has one of the best customers you could haul for, Oscar Mayer. It doesn't get any better than that. The most thing they wanted you to do is be on time an not late. Come on what company doesn't that. Take care of the people who take care of you. Florilli is # 1. There is not many companys that give you a new Peterbuilt to drive ever year...........UH-OH!

Why should we -
I have found that those of you who did not like Florilli are nothing but cry baby's, and most likely have had a billion jobs since you got out of truck driving school. You have only been out of school about two years at tops. You don't know where you are going and you sure did not know where you started.

I certainly hope things have changed at Florilli since I was enslaved there in 2001. Their equipment was garbage, I had a dispatcher that couldn't open a bottle without a drink in him, and it's located in West Liberty, Iowa. I doubt you can get a decent meal served to you there. What transpired for me was that I was pulling a trailer through Kentucky when I had issues with some of the lights on the box. I pulled over in Calvert, KY, and a shop there fixed the lights but told me that the brake drums on one of the trailer axles were shot and needed to be replaced. Already behind due to relentless maintenance issues, I made a note of it and continued to my delivery in Pittsburgh, PA. Once I made delivery, I went to a (yet another) shop, where it was confirmed that the drums were indeed past the margin of safety and needed to be replaced. I told the shop that it shouldn't be a problem, just contact the Florilli shop to get the go-ahead. An hour later, the shop foreman came into the waiting room and informed me that Florilli had told him to take the new drums off the trailer and PUT THE OLD ONES BACK ON. I pretty much came unglued at that point. When I reached the Florilli shop, I was told that they thought the shop in Pittsburgh was trying to pull a fast one, but that if I wanted to pay for new drums out of my own pocket and bring the old ones in for them to inspect, that they would re-imburse me if they deemed the old drums un-roadworthy. I would have abandonded the truck and trailer right then and there if I'd had a credit card with me to get a rental car. I was forced to make another pickup and subsequent delivery to Chicago with that defective equipment , then was dispatched to the Tootsie Roll company where I did a drop & hook bound for Harrisburg, PA. Before I left Tootsie Roll, however, I told them what had transpired with the brake drums since the Bluegrass. Just as I'm pulling out of Tootsie Roll, Florilli messages me and asks me to drop my PA trailer and take the POS I'd brought in there out to Kraft in Aurora, IL where it would be "fixed" (meaning loaded and sent back out on the road). I sneeringly declined that invitation, and after Harrisburg I faxed in my resignation, forevermore committed to never again set foot in Iowa. If you go to work for Florilli after having read this, you have only yourself to blame. Who the hell makes up a story like this one...

What does the company being located in Iowa have to with anything?? Are you reviewing the company or a restaurant critic? You say you won't step foot in Iowa again because this companies headquarters are there. That comment seems beyond stupid. I haven't read much good on this company but didn't understand ragging on a state about it. From what I've read on here I think there's worse states to have a distaste for.

I also worked for Heyl Truck Lines out of Akron, IA on the other side of the state. I've been to every last packing plant in Iowa, in every little charming town in Iowa, and other than the casinos in Altoona and Council Bluffs, I never was able to order up a decent meal in Iowa.
So while my personal opinion about Iowa is peripheral to my tale of woe concerning Florilli, I'm certainly entitled to it, as you are entitled to disagree. When it comes to Florilli, however, no amount of apologizing for -well, what they were 13 years ago, at least- will sway me. Truth is, after I left, I wrote a letter to the Iowa DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, Florilli's insurance company, and the U.S. Highway Safety Administration detailing down to the sub-atomic particle level all the illegalities and maintenance atrocities perpetuated by Florilli while I was there. I bet I cost those insipid morons at least $250,000 in fines. From what I've been reading here, though, it doesn't look like much changed at Florilli. What's most amusing is the idiot "packerfan" who tried to blame each and every driver for each and every complaint leveled against Florilli in this forum. Heyl is out of Iowa, too, but their maintenance was exquisite. They nickel and dime their drivers to death, but at least Heyl is committed to maintenance and safety, which Florilli is not.
IOWA stands for "I Oughta Went Around". Minnesota, Arkansas and Utah aren't much better, but Florilli and West-m-f'n-Liberty aren't located in those states, so that much they have going for them.South Bound and jeff18 Thank this. -
Wow, you are a rockstar in your own mind. Dig up the proof of you costing them $250K in fines. As far as the restaurant thing and ordering a meal I can tell you're very high maintenance, that's easy to pick up on. In 4 posts on this forum since you joined you've pissed, whined and moaned in all of them. Do you see a pattern there? I don't think Iowa has missed you much since your one man mission to avoid it.
Thanks for dragging up a 2 year old thread though. Carry on with your complaints. I can't wait to see what Minnesota & Arkansas done to piss you off. My guess they have companies located in them that you drove for and didn't like. I think that's your problem going by your other post with Utah as well.
What wonderful state do you live in? -
Don't feed the Troll Goldenfan...it ain't worth it. I'm glad she'll never step foot in Iowa...she sounds like her shoes are too tight.
