This is my biggest problem with this industry, the pay. None of these large carriers want to pay, they have the money. I wish all of us could band together and shut them down. If I could build a web site to do this I would but I am not a computer person.

I have worked for Stevension, CR England, Swift, MS Carriers and now Werner. I stay with Werner because they are the best of the worst. They all pay low and it's a shame. We the drivers have the power, I listen to the truckers radio station of all the drivers complaining about pay but nobody wants to organize to stop this. You can make more money in othe low paying jobs. I have been in this business 3 years and went through a lot of companies, you can see how desperate they are for drivers. Now I am leaving Werner to go to a smaller company that will start me at .40 mile. Pay your dues, don't get a bad driving record and find a smaller company who pays better.

there all the same, you just have to find one you feel ok with. Your not gonna get rich driving for these companies. You either own your own truck and you better be good with business and paper work. OR pay your dues for two years and find another smaller company that will pay .40 to .45

Melton Transport out of Ohio does Flatbed and will hire you with 3mts experience and pays the best I have seen foe beginners. If you live in Florida I think they hire out of that area. I have worked for England, Swift, Stevension, Werner and they all pay very low, Melton has a decent pay.

There's always the Comcar subsidiaries. Based in FL and other southeastern locations. They take students.

I would consider Prime the best starter company out there. Excellent training, best starting pay, and excellent equipment. Goto the Prime DAC reports threads. Lots of good information there.

The messige I was trying to convey is, your not going to get a driving carrer w/ anybody with a bad record. So keep your record clean and then go to a smaller company. Hopefully people check out the safety record of the company they are going to move to.

think about this, they are hiring driver in North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana, for Frac drivers and they pay very well. Very hard climite and conditions but it's the new gold rush.

Yeah but when the gold dries up they lock the gates and say go find another job without any notice. Talked to alot of drivers that were making alot of money from it bought houses etc when it happened to them in Grand Junction Co. Town was thriving on it til it dried up and they locked the gates without any notice. If your willing to relocate after it dries up then you can do fine but the people there were grand junction residents that werent looking to go anywhere and they all thought it was gonna be there for a lifetime.
