The Fontana terminal does not have a lot of parking so you may be able to take the truck home. I know if you live within 100mi of the UT terminal they want you to park at the terminal.
I'm not sure how much the refresher class is, so I would just plan on the $3000 for the basic flass, it's cheaper than you are going to find elsewhere and they guarentee you a job as long as you don't mess it up, they want you to suceed because they make more money running you, not training your replacement.Privy Thanks this. -
Yah they changed the pay for the trainee this year, because they are trying not to put too many miles on the trainers truck so some training can happen. As such the truck is not making as much money so pay has to be less, but the student is getting a better training (hopefully).Privy Thanks this.

Hay Rick I just noticed you live in Denver. You would love Central. We have a terminal in Commerce city and if you got on the Coors deticated fleet you could be home for a 10 every 2-4 days. I was thinking about moving to Denver just for that reason. You need to put 3+mo in with out an accedent to run Coors, but the payoff is great. Any one running this dedicated fleet want to chime in?

When in August will you be starting, and at what terminal? They are changing how they do things and it would be great if you could post any changes you have seen over what we have posted. Thanks
-
Yeah, I live about 10 minutes from their terminal (assuming there's no trains on the crossing on 88th avenue). I had a conversation with their recruiter some time back; Central is on my list when I do make the jump to driving, which could be six months or 6 years from now.
Got a aquaintence of mine who drives casual for Central; lives in Pahrump NV and based (I think) in Vegas. He speaks highly of them as well. He's retired and pretty much works when he wants to. When I last spoke with him he was on a 15/15 shift but was not locked into that formula.
Thanks! -
Not sure if your question was for me,if so I'm suppose to start July 9th not sure where yet... I forgot to ask like a dummy have been trying to get hold of recruiter for 2 days to find out, no answer back yet though. I live in Nor Cal so I figure Fontana but not sure I'm almost just as close to SLC miles wise so either way. I need to find out for sure so I can make plans while I still have the time to get there on my own, trying to avoid having to take the bus at last minute.
Weird...when I first called he answered on the first ring, now I keep leaving a message but can't seem to get ahold of the guy. Thanks for the explanation for the training pay difference and hometime parking , I will be posting if everthing goes as planned and I actually get there,
wherever there is.

I have had one ticket in 20 years... but with my luck it was in Sept. 2010 and was 15 over the speed limit while riding my motorsickle... Just found out it has to be at least 3 years old to qualify so I won't be going to Central, check another off the list, at least I found out before I left to go down there.

Sorry to hear about that privy. Are you going to wait the 16 months and try again?
