Schneider Oil Field Truck Driver Jobs/ The Texas shales and beyond

So how does one get "experience" if one does not "do"?

 

They don't really hold back the pay, you get paid on a Friday for the work you did the SUN-SAT (Schneider's pay period) the week before. The week you go to your account to train, that Friday you should get a check for the orientation. Then the next Friday you should get the check for the week you trained at your account.

 

So I had my first "accident" on the job this week. Before we go in to load the crude the company who manages the site comes out to the staging area and makes us "stick" our tanks to make sure we are not bringing heel (leftover crude in the tank) in with us. We have to climb up to the top of the tank, open our dome lid, then stick a large stick they carry around into the tank and bang it on the bottom. Well my gloves were a little slick so when I went to bang it on the second time it zipped down into the tank. It's OK though, I'm told they usually float up to the top once you get loaded!

 

CNBC has a special report section on The Fracking of America. There are 13 articles on the topic and while it is slanted to nat gas, they do mention the oil producing regions of ND and TX. They also mention how West TX is making a comeback and they state that the Eagle Ford in South Texas is "perhaps the largest recoverable oil deposit ever in the lower 48 states". Check it out...
