Wow that was quick. Good luck and I hope every thing goes well for you starting out. Feel free to either post or PM with any of the system problems you might run across.

Congrats Gazoo, glad to hear everything is (basically) done.

And I guess EPES had to have been bad, given your lenghty response! ;)

    Good luck bud!

Well, here is the shorter version of it...They guaranteed weekends at home, but in essence, it is home weekly. In fact, their new Sirius Sat ad confirms this. #2 and the big reason I chose to go elsewhere is lost revenue. Or, in other words, lost opportunities for revenue. Here is an example of what has been going on almost 2-3 times a week, every week for the past 3 months. I leave out Sunday afternoon, head 4-500 miles to make an early Monday AM delivery apt. I arrive Sunday night, take my 10 hour break and make my appointment with a full 11 hours to run for the rest of the day. Now, here is where the company does it's magic.... I sit for 1-2 hours waiting for my next dispatch (common for the industry, this I know) then, they dispatch me for a pick up only 40-50 miles away. You are probably saying...Okay, this doesn't sound like a problem, but wait....here is the kick to the nuts, the pick up appointment isn't until 7-8 hours from when I get there. 90% of the time, the shipper will NOT load me early. So, my 14 hour clock be running and I be losing money. AND, to put the nail in the coffin, that pickup is only 250-350 miles. Now, day two, they may give me another 500 mile trip, but I go through the same cycle for Thursday or Friday. Like I said, this happens many times in one week. I kindly brought this to their attention once, then not so kindly brought it to their attention a second time. The first time I complained about the lack of miles, which BTW, have only averaged 2,100-2,300 a week for me. My Business Plan was fiqured on an average of 2,500 a week MINIMUM. The second time, I basically typed out exactly what I stated above. They apologized and said they will work to fix it.....nope, same crap even up to yesterday. In fact, I have been off duty since 8pm last night and STILL have no load to speak of. Granted, I told them I had to be home for Friday, but you would think they could find me SOMETHING. Needless to say, their logistics might work for their company drivers, but not an O/O. PLUS, did I mention that they are a FORCED DISPATCH!! I can EASILY go on with more complaints, but my fingers are now tired.

That sucks Gazoo. I ran into the same problem with the last company I drove for; poor planning and a fanatical logs department lead to a lot of lost revenue (and too much time sitting around). So I had to go- just waiting to hear back from a couple of local cos, and PMTG, will see what happens.
But good luck to you, hope you're loaded and moving soon!

Yeah, they preach LOG LEGAL, send me violations notifications, monthly but then expect me to make money with their planning professionals. :biggrin_2554:

    Congrats!!!!

I've got some size XL Landstar pocket Ts that are in pretty good shape. Yours for the cost of shipping if you want em. I feel kinda self conscience wearing them in public now that I'm no longer a BCO.
