You willingly shut down an issue hour or more driving time left on your logbook each day because of where stops are?
Friday i planned for 4 stops. 3 of them i couldn't stop at because the stat shut down the rest area or parking locations.
I had never been down that section of I80. Nor was i aware they were closed. To stop prior to them would have shut me down almost two hours early.
My last stop i could not reach because i got behind slow traffic in construction with trucks doing 45 in a 55 or 65 speed zone. Elogs shut me down almost 30 minutes early as i would be 12 minutes short on my 11 hour clock. Something on paper, most guys would just drive it in and not think twice about it.
Yop all PPP on my part Mr high and mighty.
Why do SuperTruckers treat the new drivers so bad here?

Nope. Full Grown Bears were doing it for me.

God I hate trucker conspiracy theories and fairy tales
-
I really cannot believe a driver is doing 3800 miles a week on e-logs. His safety department is probably wiping off hours somewhere along the way.
-
A driver has not trucked properly, until he or she has driven without Quallcoms. How is that for a Conspiracy Theory?
steelbeltsdrumming Thanks this. -
Here is your Fairy Tale: One day when e-logs are mandatory, all wise, good drivers, that want to make money, will leave the industry.

Tell me about your actual experience with elogs
-
I have no experience with e-logs, nor do I intend to. I do not think I would truck if I had e-logs.
steelbeltsdrumming Thanks this. -
Your potential justification of e-logs is un-necessary. It does not make the road ways any safer. Nor does it make for safer drivers. It ensures that drivers will make less money. The larger companies get by, by chopping up higher mileage loads, between several drivers. Can you say relay? Any decent hand will tell you, that if you are not getting 3000+ miles per week, you are wasting your time being on the road. I personally do not believe 3000+ miles can be run "legally", with an e-log. Unless safety departments are giving out fresh hours, without an actual 34 hour re-set. Which can be done with the stroke of a key; unbeknownst to the DOT. Who says you cannot cheat e-logs? The driver cannot, but the company can. Oh well.

I run elogs and have done 3000+ a week with hours left to still run. Matter of fact, I would consistently run over 3000 a week but I choose to be home weekends. Don't believe me? Search my name and view my thread on my carrier. I've repeatedly posted proof.
High mileage loads aren't the only way to get miles. Proof? My length of hauls average 350-450 miles. The key Is proper planning and scheduling from load planners. It's not the fault of Elogs.
Can safety alter logs? Sure can.. can they hide it from DOT? Unless it's some off brand Joe blow elog system, they cannot hide their alterations. Once any edit is made its automatically flagged red and first in the results for any DOTaudit. It's a admissionof guilt by carrier if they edited a log, which they are not that stupid. Everyone knows companies are all about the "cover your ###" policy.
Stop being scared of change. Quite honestly, unless you have had experience with elogs, your opinion isn't close to valid.vinsanity and RizenPhoenix Thank this.
