Smaggs goes to Marten. My Experience with Marten Transport.

If I could get past the breakdowns, it wouldn't be too bad. But I'm keeping my eyes open for other opportunities.....

 

Am I the only one overly excited for updates?

out for 30 days would get you 4 days off. That would be on the otr fleet. Some of the regional fleets get you home every weekend. The western fleet gets you home every other weekend for only 2 days. Marten used to have excellent hometime where you could take one day off for every 5 days out, but not anymore. They want you in the drivers seat. I got a wife at home that i hardly ever get to see.

 

Was just in formed by my wife that Marten sent me a letter in the mail. I thought it would be to try to get me to come back. No, They say I owe 75 dollars for the hotel from 2 years ago for orientation, because I couldn't allow my family to go hungry any longer after 4 weeks. Normally they take all that stuff out on your last check and they probably did, but 2 years ago I can't remember. I'll give them 75 bucks. Heck I paid more then that for my greyhound ticket home.

 

Anj this is what the orientation updates look like for Marten.

Day 1. Marten Lies and we take Drug test and road test.

Day 2. Marten Lies again and we fill out paper work and watch video's about how we put all our freight on train and the Best of the Best Marten drivers get to deliver and pick up another load with good miles and put it back on train.

Day 3. Marten Lies yet again and tells us how great we are to pay for the company to add our miles up. Just 3cpm out of that fair (laugh laugh) pay scale.

Day 4. Most drivers are not really paying attention but are making plans for the next orientation at Company X.

 

I Still got my approval letter from Marten. Only company that actually put my pay in writing
