I must ahve some serious catching up to do with this thread. I thought Smoker was running regional around Chicagoland. I haven't seen a Stevens in Maine in a long time but i seem to see 4-5 Prime trucks parked in Auburn, Maine everyday.

I assume that you are talking about the written tests for your license...

As long as you put your mind to it and study, you will be fine. If you stay up late every night and good off with the other students you will be taking the tests multiple times like so many do.

Lets put it this way, if I can pass each of the tests the first time, anyone can do it!

One of the funniest exchanges I have heard yet today.
I pull up to the guard shack to leave Campbells and another driver is coming in to pick up.

    Guard: What company you with?
    Driver: Stevensons
    Guard: Stevensons?
    Driver: Uh Huh Stevenson Transportation
Guard: (typing and looking at screen quizzically) Uhhhhhhh I dont see any Stevenson anything in our system.
Driver: Thats who I drives for and they told me to come here.
Guard: What lane are you in?
Driver: Lane? the one out there. The middle one.
Guard. The middle one? Lane 2?
Driver: I didnt see a number.
Guard. (sigh) hold on. (walks out, comes back in)
Guard: Your truck says Stevens Transport.
    Driver: That what I said
Guard: No its not, but anyway. Pickup Number?
Driver: I aint got that, let me go look.
Guard: (after he walks out to truck) F****** idiot
    Driver: My number is *********
Guard: Oh, Im sorry, your appt is at 9 AM, you will have to leave and come back in 2 hours.
Driver: Ohhh S***, Im gonna call Stevenson.
Guard: Call whoever you want, but your appt is 3 hours from now. But I would suggest you call whoever you actually work for.

I have a question. I start with stevens next month. Now when the trainer is driving and your sleeping, do you sleep in his bunk or do you sleep in the top bunk? Cause I did my training with prime last year and I had my own sheets and pillow and we just swaped out our stuff when whoever was driving. Prime says the only time you can sleep in the top bunk is when the truck is parked.

Prime is correct. The DOT requires you use the cargo net while sleeping and the truck is moving. It's hard to do when the top bunk doesn't have one.

Back in my training days I used a sleeping bag as a sheet of sorts. You can just throw it on top of the trainers bedding and sleep on top of it with a blanket. It's a lot easier than tearing beds down and changing sheets.

Ok thanks for that info thats pretty much what me and my trainer did. Prime was a pretty good company but the reason I left was after I finish my training which was 2 and a half months, if you was going company the only truck you get was those box trucks (forgot the name of them) where its like a coffin with no stand up room and the passenger seat is gone. They said the only way you get a condo if you lease or do team. I was like I don't wanna lease right now. I said you guys should have said that in orientation. So I left. If I'm gonna be out for a whole month I have to be comfotable. Do you agree?
