Controlled Regional is more or less City-to-City and Terminal-to-Terminal far as I can tell. I imagine that you live in the Midwest, since that's been the biggest opening for them recently. I'd have to get back to work to look at the exact numbers, but i do believe it's 35-40% D&H, the rest being L/U. Also, if you do have back problems, make sure you get Lumper info from us when you know you're on such a load.
GOOD LUCK!
Bad company or good, are you ready?

I really hope you guys have alternate career plans in case the bottom falls out. For a lot of you, it is definitely going to fall out. I think 2008 will be the last good year in solo OTR. A lot of companies are gonna go broke in the coming 12-15 months. Costs are eating them alive, and demand for their services is falling. People are paying 3 bucks a gallon for gas now and thus have less income to spend on the things that you deliver in your wagons. Plus, green juice is now so high it once again pays to use the rails over trucks.
I'm pulling for you guys. Hopefully the elites won't allow you to be thrown out of work next year en-masse. But have a plan, just in case. -
i just scroll past any thing that jb hunt dude posts

But we've all seen tough times before. And that which doesn't kill us, makes us stronger. -
Well I get big laugh out these post like this. Oh the Construction has falling out so bad economy. Every where I look I see new building being built. I see new business every day. But the economy is falling. Guess we forgot how everything looked during the 90's when all the business were closing their doors going to Mexico and other countries, and we survived. But when I see all the new business being built it hard to see the view points of the sky is falling.

I was drafted to get the load, Moly powder going to Iowa. And yes, I was running chainsunlike the other super trucker. Chain law wasn't up, but I wasn't taking any chances going in empty, high winds and snow does that to me. Winds had been clocked through the pass at over 70 mph the night before.
Actually, the road isn't as bad as the pic makes it appear. It was well maintained, just a hard grade with snow and ice. What you can't see, is the guard rail under the snow. To prevent mistakes -
Unfortunately, a few key people getting spooked will bring the economy down, as it always does. It all depends on the moves those folks make. -
I wonder if the big trucking companies will cut mileage pay, to help pay for the high diesel prices? I feel sorry for all of the owner operators out there
paying for their own fuel. I dont see how you guys can make any profit with the fuel prices so stupidly high? I heard that the gas/diesel prices are expected to keep rising, well in to 2008. -
I'll bet when Biff and Buffy, the yuppie couple have to wait 5 extra weeks for Birkenstock Shoes or can't get gas for the BMW and toilet paper goes to 50 bucks a roll, somebody will decide to do something about it. Let's see if they can send a train to Wal-Mart and Kroger or the Gap.

Something will be done about it, but only when THEY feel the pain....the dangerous voter, that is. And when that something is done, it will mean YOU will have to shoulder much more than your fair share of the burden of any corrrective action. Such is reality in a democracy where 25% of potential voters actually do vote. You better believe Biff and Buffy vote. They know they can milk the system and force YOU to sacrifice for them through their voting booth choices.
