Enjoying the quiet night with my door window screens in and sleeper windows open...then tonight some tool has to park next to me and leave his truck idling.....not cool or quiet at all.

Last week with the same circumstances some toad dropped his reefer left on high speed about 20ft from my sleeper windows...parked all by myself at the end.

Are people really that stupid to not think or do they just not care?

To me, dropping that reefer next to someone trying to sleep was the ultimate in rudeness

A lot of years ago when i pulled a reefer i would warn flatbeds and vans that tried to park next to me that my reefer would be on all night.

    Where has courtesy gone?

A lot of drivers just don't care anymore. The industry as a whole is getting into becoming less personal and more "me, me, me, me".

I'm a skateboard driver but if I pulled reefer I would at least try to park beside another reefer or away from people.

I don't know Paul but it just seems like today everyone's out for themselves and could care less about anyone else. It might be funny but i watch movies like Smokey and the bandit or convoy and think that I wish the attitude today would be just like the attitude back then between drivers. Everyone helped each other and everyone had a great time hauling down the road.

    Hard to find that today.

So people have to suffer all night and not idle to be courteous so you can squeeze every lil fuel drop of savings? We should all prop our windows open so we can hear all the noise, feel all the heat and fall asleep to the lovely aroma of hot urine .

Didn't prove a single point . Ok he parked in back to avoid people. Eventually that truck stop will fill up.

it is hard to imagine someone idling or a reefer running in a truckstop. thats a rare occurence at a truckstop.

but with the lack of available parking, do you really think someoen parked next to you just to tick you off?

the last spot availble to park, dead tired , and a guy looks and says, oh my he has in his windows screens and is sleeping. let me go somewhere else.

have you really been driving 27 years?

Ive gotten pissed about stuff like this too. But its a truck stop, what do you expect. I personally don't really like it when people start talking about how the trucking industry is rude and so selfish, and not like it used to be. Every driver I talk to on the road is polite, cheerful and helpful. I've only been driving a couple of months, pulling flatbeds, I've gone out on a limb several times to ask other drivers how the load should be placed on the trailer or the best way to secure a load, stuff like that. I've come across as a total newbie, and I'm always shocked at how helpful other drivers are, so its hard for me to say the everyone is selfish and concerned about themselves. I've learned a lot from random strangers.
I know the op wasn't really talking about the trucking industry as a whole, but thats what the thread turned into...
