If you go to work in the oil fields find a small company to work for. Screw givin' the multi-million companies more money, they can stay on the HWY where they belong. The big companies come in and undercut the local or out of state small guy. I work the Bakken, I haul sand up here, work for a guy with 1 truck, it's nice. Swift is moving in and going to ruin this field. Swift money (like he needs any more) will undercut everybody, and take everybody's transportation jobs up here for a dollar a load, forcing all small biz to have to drop wages to compete and BOOM! The oil fields are just as ###### as all the low paying jobs everywhere else in the country.
It's just too bad that people sell out after making tons of money. Something happens in the brain I think, "Well I've made 40 million this year, next year I'll shoot for 50." Self centered ######## only want more to fill the empty holes in their souls not even giving a flying fornication about you or me. Ya, it was good. It sucks up here. The big dreams to "get ahead" have tuned into "getting by" like every #### else I've lived in this country.
Bakken Update= It sucks up here, wages are dropping, the rush for getting in on the money is OVER......gdyupgal Thanks this. -
So the silly question for the day - - - is frac sand as good as any other in the oilfields? One could get into cement , sand or water and do not really need to haul oil. 18 dollars an hour X a million hours is still good coin.
