Wow they made it worse. Pretty much 90% of the company goes 62 because of this would be my guess.

Nope, still see many fellow knight drivers at the yard or truck stop with trk off and windows open. (I mean really its July) (grow a sack! ). That's why these mega carriers that. Don't use APu still get away with these stupid idle policies, to many folks that will eat sheet with a smile on their face.

I really wish they'd use APUs.... Why don't a lot of companies use them? It'd get rid of the idle issue.

I don't idle unless there is a particular need to, and I'm always passing other trucks at 65 MPH.... Thankfully enough I drive during the day and I'm usually in the northwestern portion of the US or in Canada.

I was down south once and it must have been 105f with a broken AC. I just fired up the trailer and crawled in back, got some pretty good sleep.

Latest and last I heard, Knight did away with the "rewards" deal where you could go faster if your idle was below a certain %. AFAIK, all the new trucks run 64, no matter what your idle % .
When I started with them, they did do the % thing, but that was kind of sucky, depending on what time of year you got your truck: get your truck in the Spring or Fall, and either you didn't need A/C and/or the bunk heater would be fine; meanwhile you were building up the driving time. Get it in the Summer and/or deep Winter, and you had to idle waaay more, and there went your low %.
Why they just don't go back to 64 cruise and 66 pedal, I will never know: stick it in cruise, and if you come across a slower truck, push the pedal, get around them in a reasonable time, and go back on cruise. Ah, bean counters, the saviors of the trucking industry.
