Indiana provisions are 12' 4" wide or more for escorts, I have a encyclopedia of every state current in the truck.

You can go up to 12' wide in pretty much any state on 4 lane roads without escorts. In fact, I am not sure of one that would require them until you get off the interstate or 4 lane.

Wish we could have a heavy haul section here, I know it was asked of the owners but not enough post or others admitting to hauling heavy or oversize. We could post links to all the state provisions and regs here. One thing about permit loads, no matter what they have posted online the permit is the bible and in many states even with a permit you must carry the state provisions or the permit is null and void.

    DEMO Thanks this.

All factors and the permit route could make that happen, bad thing is two trucks can haul the exact same road to include identical loads with different permit companies and have two different permits. Nothing is uniform at all including permits issued by the states directly.

That's the truth right there. For the last 6 years I have been moving identical loads to PA 15 wide 14 10 tall and 103 long. We move 6 at a time and get 6 different routes all the time.

I hauled a 12 wide and kind of ran with another driver that was 12' 2" from Birmingham AL to Onaway, MI, he was tall too, he had to have an escort the whole way(pole car in IN and MI) I only had an escort on 2 lane in KY(bypassing construction on 65)

    Here's are great rule.
In Al. , if you haul a load that has a blade and it's 8'7" or wider you need a rear car.
But haul anything else up to 12' and no car required.
They might of changed it lately. Been awhile.
And at 105' long I needed a car in Fl / Al/ Ms. even on the interstate. Only 9' wide. Mty trailer.
