Sounds like YOU are jealous. What happened? Did you fail that incredibly easy written test a few times?

Remember the freak snow storm last year in Dallas? As I was heading east on I-20 from Sweetwater to Weatherford there were big rigs, RV's, travel trailers, and cars wrecked on both sides of the highway. My trip plan was to stop at the Weatherford Petro overnight and make morning delivery 57 miles away. Next morning it was not snowing and the snow on the road was hard-packed. I was at 79,000 GVW...a load of pizza cheese. It took me 1.5 hours to drive 57 miles from Weatherford to Dallas. I drove with my flashers on, which kept 4-wheelers at a safe distance. I kept a steady pull at a speed between 30-40 mph...adjusting my speed to safely drive up and down hills, curves, and highway interchanges. When I needed to slow, I just eased off on the throttle maintaining a steady pull, but letting my forward momentum take over. I used very mild pressure on the brakes to further maintain control. I made my delivery without incident.

my all time favorite was the april ice storm in dallas back in 2002 or 2003...

they shut us down on 20 (in our lanes) and told us to camp out...

within an hour my cb antenea were the diameter of my mag light!

3" of solid ice built up.. we were there (cars trucks etc) for 22 hours

when the sun came out the next day it started to melt everything and we were allowed to roll (which was a joke since the road was rough as hell from the ice/melt ridges...)

I have seen some real unusual crap in texas... tornado type weather up on the 287 - ice and heat waves all in the same day etc etc etc

:biggrin_2559:I can just hear a "Yeah, I did" to the tone of the passerby questioned by the Action News reporter in the song "The Streak" by Ray Stevens.

Doesn't bother me, keep on trucking. I love it when it snows here in Bama and I can watch all the cars spinning around. Best comedy show I've ever seen as long as no one gets hurt

I do well in snow and ice. It's kind of necessary to be able to drive in it around here. We have dry roads most of the time but we still get plenty of icy days.

evertruckerr's pic is a scene I've seen a few times. It's kinda fun sometimes.

The biggest thing to remember is that a loaded truck can safely travel much faster than a 4 wheeler in those kind of conditions, so when there's 4 wheelers around, you need to remember to slow down to a speed that's safe for them.
