Awesome mechanicsville is even closer to me, approx. 25 miles away. What company do you deliver to in Mechanicsville?

Good luck with the berry pick-up. We went to Salinas Valley Cooling on Saturday. Stevens forgot to tell us that our pick-up had been changed to Tanimura & Antle, in Spreckles!! The people at Salinas were extremely rude. We got to T&A, sat for about 5-6hrs, they called and said we would be loaded on Sunday morning. We sat all day Sunday watching trucks come in, load, and leave. We were finally assigned a door at 18:00, finished loading around 20:30, which was after midnight in Dallas, so we parked back in the holding lot til morning.

While technically in Dallas, TX, Stevens Transport is on the far East side of the city. DFW airport is directly between Dallas and Fort Worth, and Love Field is more towards downtown Dallas. Love field is closer to the yard. (I'm a couple days behind in reading ... sorry if this has been answered.)

    Rif Raf McQ Thanks this.

When I joined Stevens back in Jan '08 I had a bus ride from Bangor, ME to Dallas, TX. 3 days on the dog. It's part of the rights of passage, and it give you a look at what you'll expect should you get sent home for any reason during training or orientation.

I'll pass on the rite of passage LOL. I currently work for a bus company as the evening dispatcher. You can't make me take that ride. I just can't do it...LOL

It will also give you a 'feel' for being in a truck day in/day out for weeks on end.

To get a true feel for living in the truck, move into your closet.
Set yourself up a bed across the back, put your TV on a cabinet at one end. After supper you have to get in the closet and take your 10.
This is what i tell people who ask me how "Life is on the Road."
