Couple of other questions for you Seawheeler (or any other Maverick driver). I see there is a rider policy at Maverick, but can't seem to find the minimum age, anyone know that offhand? Also, I'd like to know about health coverage, what it costs per week for family and who it's through. If you aren't comfortable stating it here feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance for any info.

I think the min age for a rider is 13. If that's wrong someone will correct me. The rider must also be family. No girl friends.
The insurance is UnitedHealthcare and seems to be very good.

What part of Texas are you in? The are looking for dedicated drivers at Wichita Falls.

I saw that, I'm too far away for it. I've started to come around to glass after reading your thread. Thanks for the info on the rider and insurance, do you know the cost per week for family by chance?

Health insurance for you, the wife, and 1 or 20 kids is $100 a week!

Thanks Freespool, I thought I had seen that price somewhere but haven't been able to find it again. That will be $570 cheaper a month that what I paid at my last job!

Last load I pulled this week, major pain. Step deck trailer (that's the good part) both set of racks up. Big glass on the front meaning 102" x 144". With big glass you have to add extensions to the "A" frames. Rear racks had two stoces of 96" glass on one side and glass in a rack on the other. On the rear of the trailer they placed two more rack that were side loaded and tarped with a steel tarp. All together load, secure, protect tarp and glass (cardboard "V" board around edges) and tarp about 5 hours. Then pull it 490 miles. Got one thumbs up from another driver going down I-94 so I guess it looked pretty good, or he was just saying better you than me buddy!

    sewerman Thanks this.
