ty gentlemen that had parents that raised them not to do what was legal but do what is right
i was beginning to think these masters of the universe were correct and i was wrong
if my 30 year old son acting like them he would still feel my wrath
being an adult is more then cronological age lil boys

transam pete i agree, when i was raised by my parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents; it didn't shame them none to whoop my butt, in public, outside @ church, etc. when i was learning to drive a little over 20 yrs ago, i got a fist/slap upside my head & boot up my a s s & got told to do it right like i showed u or get the hell out of the truck. i guess that's why today i can go & not have to worry about if i'm gonna make it to the truck stop or buffet line or front row parking spot. work comes first & play is later; not many of these young/new drivers today could have handled being taught like i was, but i got 2.5 million miles over them, all from the school of hard knocks

the way i did was , if i was getting a load of produce and i wasn't need'ed on the dock's, i take my phone number in with me and they all ready knew the the truck stop anyway, ok well buzz you when ready , i said ok, i run down there didn't see no bob tail spot ,at the truck stop, so i go inside and get permission from the manger, too park in the 4 wheeler's spot , most time's i find a empty wall-mart ,that's been close or a old k-mart and park there, i never park in a stall, i figure there a driver with a trailer , who's need's more then me, there was a time, were i wish i could find a spot , and i was dead tired, but there were filled up with hot shot's , detail truck's but no bob tail's, hum.

i agree, yrs ago i'd sit in dodge city waiting for a load coming out of excel aka cargill, watching the load board, there would be trans-am drivers, prime drivers, potter transport drivers (who i drove for), ffe drivers, etc. we'd all stand/sit around shooting the breeze exchanging stories aka lies (lol), saying what chrome we bought @ oak grove or walcott, etc. on saturday night we'd all go across the street to the steakhouse, then thru the next door was the bar & the ladies (OH YEA), got drunker than 2 skunks on saturday night but i somehow managed to leave there sunday morning & be sitting in detroit or cleveland the next morning. those were the days i tell ya. i sure miss em; these new drivers out here couldn't do what we did back then

Dean Werner had it right in Animal House
going thru life fat drunk and stupid doesn't work
Had a rather rotund driver for transam roll into his trailer complaining it just wasn't right he had to put his own load locks in

Maybe I've been driving so long I'm just used to it, but I'd say it would have to be a rare loud old truck or reefer that would bother me, and in that rare case ( like twice a year) I have ear plugs. I don't even try to sleep with the windows open in a truck stop. The smell of urine, exhaust, and people driving by is too much even for me. If it's really that nice out, and I want the windows open, I park somewhere away from anyone else. I would never get mad at someone for parking next to me with motor running. It's part of the business IMO.

My God are guys on here still complaining about reefers! 19 pages of crying and whining, for a second I thought it was my CB turned on all of this cry baby B.S.

Your truck drivers, reefer drivers deserve to park in the same truck stops as us skateboard drivers, if you don't like the sound of the trucks idling or reefers running go hit up an abandoned parking lot or a get on ramp.

We need a whole dry van full of tissues for all of the tears in these threads complaining about "loud" trucks, reefers, straight pipes, whaaa whaaa whaa
