why do drivers stand for governed trucks?

Nobody is pissed. Just amazed that you even made that statement. It shows you don't know a lot and you decided to put that lack of knowledge on display.

 

Last company I worked for was in business for 42 years. Then they cut the workforce 48%. 2700 people lost their jobs.

Now that the company is trying to come back from the flooding in Thailand, they can't get anybody local to work for them.

Yop, the economy is so stable.

ok that says alot right there, u haul fuel; yea i do believe fuel drivers make a good bit more, but also have more responsibility; if u were talking reefer, van, flatbed that would be different; but i still can't see a fuel distributor having a truck that will run faster than 65-70

 

Well, I don't have a horse in this race anymore as I have given up trucking for good and all, but I will toss in my .02, if y'all don't mind.

I'm down to driving my poor, overworked 4-wheeler, and I still keep it under the speed limit where ever I go. One reason is safety. I figure its better to let all the idiots who are in such a hurry to get to that next accident to go right on around me. Another reason is saving on maintainance. My Jimmy is over 15 years old now, with well over 200,000 on the clock and is still running the original drivetrain. Finally, of course, is fuel costs. Running a couple of miles per hour under the speed limit reduces the RPM's on my motor, which translates to less fuel being used to travel the same amount of distance.

But I'm just a 4-wheeler these days, so what do I know?

 

Now there's a business model to follow!!! Lower your rates so you can haul more loads!

Cutting my rates in 1/2 as I type this so I can work twice as much!
