Some people out there will do well with USX, and more power to them. A lot of the people that come into Orientation and don't make it, believe it or not, they do not have Internet Access, or may not even know of this Forum to voice what their issues where with USX.
I mean no disrespect to anyone with this comment, I came to USX because I wanted to and not because I had to. I thought that I did the research on them, but I was way off base in what I read compared to what I found at USX. -

Yes, I an sure you are doing great.
I am so sorry I am happy and my life is great. I will work on it -
Hey Craig I saw your reply to newdriver2012 and was wondering if knew what the avg weekly pay was for dedicated? I'm thinking about calling my recruiter in the morning to see if I can switch to dedicated while here in orientation so I can avoid the 8 weeks teaming and maybe get better home time.

Another personal observation since I have been researching on this blog ..It always seems to be the solo guys complaining .. thats what I have noticed with all companies.. I can't remember seeing a h/w teams complaining on any of these threads..I think it would be a very hard life running solo.. I couldn't do it ..I think comparing the 2 is like comparing an apple and an orange ..
another personal observation so far:
The number 1 complaint is hometime .. this is something a couple in most cases are very flexiable about in most cases, not so much with the solos.. and I understand that--I couldn't do it with a family at home ..
#1 HUGE advantage as a couple home time can be anywhere and anytime you have a break.. I think the perfect situation is not having a home per se.. No mortgage,no taxes,no insurance,no utilities etc..
Done right a couple could bank some serious bling in 10-15yrs.Craig and Anne are 18 months in KUDO'S to you both.. .
I hope one day my wife and I can be as happy while working to accomplish our goal.... Our goal is $500k+ in 10-15 yrs and I think its very doable if you want it bad enough and have the right attitude and look at the end picture rather than today or next week..
Most solo's are looking week to week and worried about whats going on with the wife and kids at home .. Thats tough.. again I couldn't do it..
But 3 more yrs the kids will be out of school and we have a long term plan and God willing and we play our cards right I believe we can do it ..
I am not normally a very optimistic guyLast edited: Jul 18, 2012

Of course my wife doesn't feel the same way lol but she will get use to it. I love my wife dearly but if I had to be in tight confines of a truck cab with her (or anyone for that matter) 24/7 I would go crazy!! -
Oh come on Renegade, you weren't exactly treated like dirt. I know I haven't been treated like dirt. Maybe you just have a warped way of looking at things. The other day you commented on a post by someone who was having problems with their DT. You made it sound like USX did that on purpose. Equipment fails occasionally. You make the best of it.
And yes, we do get to see some awesome things. I still remember the first time I went around a curve and saw Mount Shasta. And with this job you have to live in the moment. You can always find some cool little places to check out if you put some effort into it. You weren't really a truck driver long enough to see that.
You really do come off as someone who is bitter that they did not make it in trucking. At least be honest with people and change your info. You are not a trucker. -
DaReallyst and newtrucker2012 Thank this.
